My SA went on leave without telling me. I’ve been shopping for a few months and have a pretty good relationship but didn’t know they are leaving. Any advice on what to do? I have a list of things I want to buy and have been trying to build my profile plus I have no idea when they’re coming back. Is it okay to switch SAs and continue building and working towards a bag with the new SA? Or should I wait until mine eventually returns?
How long is the leave?

Oh, that’s unfortunate that she didn’t tell the clients she was going on leave. If you are really keen on the items and do not want to miss them, I would go and buy with other SA. In any case, those purchases are in your profile. If the list of item is just to 'butter up' (sorry, for lack of a better word) your SA for a QB, then please wait until she's back. HTH!

Firstly if she went on leave suddenly without telling you perhaps she is unwell and didn't want to share this private information with customers, or perhaps a family member is unwell?
My advice would be to reach out to her SM and say that you value your relationship with XXXXX however there are items you wish to buy whilst she is on leave and how best to do so? could she assign you a 'stand in' SA who would still credit sales to your original consultant? Basically reach out and ask what the best course of action would be.
I'm sure your original consultant would be grateful if you go about things in this manner and it will hold you in good stead.

My SA goes on leave for a week at a time without telling me. It really doesn’t make much of a dent the way Hermes sees time. I can’t quite recall what are the things I wanted that arrives at the store within a week or 2 upon my request nowadays.

But of course, a 3 or 6 months leave is another story.

I had an appointment scheduled with my SA last Saturday afternoon. When I arrived at the boutique, I learned that she was out sick. Fortunately the store manager was able to help me with my purchases that afternoon. When I sent my SA a text to check in and see how she was feeling on Monday, I got an auto-responder indicating that she'd be out for the week and providing an 'emergency' contact number...presumably the store manager. I'm sure your SA @Bostonluxx21 would want you to be happy while they are out so I'd follow @maxroxxherhandbags advice and contact the SM.

Thank you all for your advice! I wasn't sure if there was a standard practice but this advice certainly makes sense :)

That was very inconsiderate of your SA.
Have you asked someone like the SM when your SA will be returning?
If it is leave (holiday) you might expect her to be back in 2-3 weeks.
If it is maternity, she might not return.
Without that information it's not possible to advise.

How should your text message conversation with you SA should be? I have been asking if certain items were available in store for the past three weeks and I have not received a reply. Given it was the holidays... but I have been left hanging..

what should I do? Do I just go in the store and just purchase it?

You could try to schedule an appointment with your SA if they reply!

Interesting that you said “if it’s maternity, she might not be back.” My SA will go on maternity leave in March. I hope she comes back :confused1:

I was intending to highlight the uncertainty.
As you are in the position of your SA going to be on maternity leave and that, all being well for your SA, she will not be at work for some months,
will you suspend purchasing in the hope of her return? or make other arrangements?
You SA has advised you of what will be happening.

In the case of the OP, her SA was suddenly not there.
Had the reason been maternity it is unlikely that OP would not have noticed her SA becoming great with with child. My suggestion was not seriously that maternity was the reason, but an example of how the length if absence would be uncertain.

If you know that the items are available in store, make the necessary arrangements to go in and buy them. Either walk in or make an appointment if you need to. That is, if you want them. Isn't that the sensible thing to do. You know that Hermes items are not mass-produced and you need to buy when they are available. Please don't say anything about offending your SA and spoiling your 'relationship'.

However the lack of response from your SA might just mean that they are not yet available, so your SA would have no reason to reply to you. Common sense.

I thought it’s more common and polite to reply in a reasonable amount of time that there is no stock rather than not reply.

frankly, there r so many times my SA didn’t reply me when I asked for a certain items a couple of times. Until she recently requested me to order some items. I repeated 1 item I asked a couple of times but gotten no reply. She thought I got it already.

Im sure this is off topic but @WhiteBus i wanted to say how much I enjoy your prose.. "becoming great with child.." sounds very regal :)
