Oh man do we have the same SA and same store? The shelves at our local store is essentially empty. Minimal SLGs. Minimal silks. The belts are now where there use to be bags. Our SA has told us they haven’t gotten any shipments in a while but fingers crossed for a late Nov/Dec shipment? And they’ve also been telling new clients no bags until well into 2022. (Literally had a coworker and his wife recount their experience to me and what my SA told him - he doesn’t know that we ship there).

Possible although the silk selection was actually very decent today! I wonder if my store got shipments for silks (and Twillies) recently. There have been reports of empty shelves in a lot of store specific threads so at this stage it unfortunately seems to be a non-isolated situation.

Another side note re: stock…in general when a new store opens there is greater stock there as shipments / stores in the same country direct goods there to help make the opening successful. When I was trying to hunt down a coat and some stuff I was interested in a while ago, my SA found them at the Miami store which just opened, and when she tried to ask for a transfer or even a charge send she was told no - meaning the store must have believed that they would have no problem selling it themselves. This (getting declined asking for transfers) also seems to be happening more this year compared to my personal experiences in the past, perhaps another indicator of the general supply and demand issue going on.

Yes, I also had the same experience as well. It is getting very difficult to get another Hermes boutiques approving the transfer request. I even encountered a circumstance where the "non-local" Hermes boutique was delaying to ship out a shawl, even my "local" home boutique sold me the shawl as a charge-send a week ago...(This incident happened a month ago).
It highlights how competitive the H boutiques are for the very limited inventories they have. :-s

Oh no, did the non local store end up shipping the scarf in the end!? I may be in a similar situation.

Yes, it did. I was surprised about the situation. Normally, the non-local boutique would ship out the shawl in 1 - 2 days (max) after charge-send transaction, and I would receive auto-shipment tracking info.
I waited for like 4 days (no auto-shipment tracking info), so checked with my SA if she knew the other boutique shipped out the item. It took another 3 days after my SA followed-up for the non-local boutique to ship out the item.

Now, I am very careful & try not to ask for items not available (or not-yet available) in my local boutique. I think the SAs are all facing increasing difficulties in getting inventories to sell (either from their own boutique, or from other boutiques).

Oh that’s good, I’m glad they ended up shipping it! I’m worried the store is hoarding the item i paid for/sold it to someone else! I’ll have to follow up with my sa in a few days.

May I ask a related but not on point topic?
If I paid a deposit for an item that my SA did WWS for me, it takes too long and I no longer want it, how do I approach my SA on this topic?
would it cause a problem for her?

I have re-read your post and think I mis-interpreted it, thinking that you had placed an order and it was taking too long.
You started with 'If', so I assume me you were getting an opinion as to what might happen.
My response would be the same, but I would qualify that by suggesting that you should have got a firm indication of the time-scale before asking your SA to source the item and paying a deposit.

its never known to the SA when they can deliver something…At least in the stores in my country. Waited for items from 1 month, to 4 months to 6 and 9 and counting.

nonetheless, thanks for the tip!

Just for more info, there is a company wide rule of “no transfers whatsoever” for inventory at a newly opened store. I can’t remember now whether it was 30, 60, or 90 days after opening (I think 30 but suspect it may be longer now). A few years ago, a brand new store had the exact wallet I wanted. I told my SA and then we literally counted down the days until the time block was over and transferred it to my store the next day. Very recently, I asked my SA for an item and they pulled up the stock levels on their phone, one of the only stores that had it was the new NJ store (opened six weeks prior to this conversation) and my SA just made a face and said something like ”of course they’d have it but as you know it will be awhile before any request from there can be made.” Super frustrating atmosphere these days.

Does anyone live slightly outside the city the store is in, such that you wouldn't be able to just pop in after work? Maybe you can only go on the weekends, and it's not a guarantee your SA is working then, I would assume. Does this affect your ability to get items? What if you are able to spend more than an average customer per visit? Thanks for the help. Sorry if wrong thread; please redirect if so :)

I always text my SA ahead of time to ask if she will be in the store on a particular day and let her know that I would be coming in. So far I prefer buying at least $1000+ per visit, provided that I find something I like.

I assume almost all Hermes shoppers are in this boat. Even if one lives directly next to the store, one still has to arrange for a time to visit when your SA is working. Hermes shopping and relationship building requires planning and forethought, that’s just how it works.
