Sure! I sent my SA Christmas gift card last year. She was politely accepted it and I continued making appointments seeing her during pandemic. I bought a few items every visited but I see her may be 4 times in a year. Last summer I bought a sandal I thought I really like it but my hubby commented my feet’s swimming in this sandals. So I decided to exchanged for another pair of loafers and I brought some pastries during the visit But the next time I see her, she keep telling me how busy is her and not taking appointment anymore but she told me they’re next person waiting for her. I was there waited for more than 30 minutes. I just don’t understand. In my email I asked her for a scarf availability and I also mentioned if I should just look for anyone who is available next time? She never come back. I just want to know if I’m doing too much? Also, I’m not filthy rich like some. I just bought what I likes and will continue to do so. I’m not familiar with Hermes game. Do you think this could be an issue? Please tell me if I’m thinking too much. Thanks everyone.

I have no comment about the gift you gave to the SA but I never give anything to my SA, only magic words ;” thank you” “ appreciate” bc as you know H items, not only B KC but literally everything needs to be sought after in H universe.

One thing! When you have appointment in person with SA, make your b4 you buy anything, make sure the size , style, colors are right to you, fit you because it takes a lot for your SA to be back and forth bringing stuff for you to try them on. Make sure at that moment even you need more help from your SA, dont be afraid to ask and get business done at that time. Case close!

To exchange! SA needs manager approval and it is quite unpleasant incident for SA to deal with even though it is a part of their jobs.

I only returned once bc my SA ordered shirt from another store but turned out it did not fit. When I returned, my SA needs to explained the the manager and the manager said we wish we had them on to try on before buying and apologize for the convenience.

Hope your business with H is joyful in the future.

Thanks for your feedback. This was my first exchanged not even a return. I always have the thought of making sure is something I really liked before I splurged. I feel sorry for the trouble therefore I bought some pastries. Feel kind of weird, not sure if I should contact her again. Anyway, appreciated your response.

I don’t see it as “offering gifts to someone selling me something” or a bribe. It’s more “giving a token to someone I appreciate and who I have a friendly professional relationship with”. Of course, it depends on your level of comfort with your SA, too.

Unless your SA stops helping you get your items, I wouldn’t read too much into it. Thy may be having an off-period, or super busy. My SA went from super responsive to 0-answer for weeks, but later let me know how slammed they were at the store.
Couldn’t agree more!! I think we develop a transactional mind set. Here’s what I am learning in life: I am responsible for the quality of ANY relationship I build with the ones around me. I am not thanking someone for selling me something. I am expressing my appreciation for a person who, despite being paid for it, makes a conscious choice to serve people at the store. When I buy them chocolates and food, my message is: I see you and I appreciate you. I truly appreciate my SA for her kindness. Not everyone in retail has a good attitude. I am not a big spender and I don’t ask for bags since I told her I am not ready. Still, I think she treats me like a queen.

I totally agree! I'm not a huge spender, but I do love shopping and I do love luxury. I have great relationships with SAs at several stores. I've used to work in retail when I was younger and have my own clothing boutique. Being nice to people goes a LONG way. Not sure why others struggle with this, hahaha! :)

i would like some feedback on etiquette about this. for example if you SA transfer a RTW/Shoes items to their store for YOU, but still needing to try on, it is frowned upon if you reject after try on?

I didnt buy a bracelet bc it was too small. My SA transfered from another store. It was about the size, not style which I made sure I like it b4 asked my SA to request transfer.

Not getting much love in the NYC thread, so reposting here (if in appropriate, please delete mods).

My SA is leaving The Bellagio in Vegas so I'm trying to figure out next steps. Would you continue to shop there (going in person only about 3-4 times/year) with a new recommended SA or begin a new relationship in NYC (which is my home city)? For transparency, I buy what I want but also would like BKC offers. Hoping some of the Vegas TPFers like @_kiki119_ will also see this and weigh in. Also happy to hear from some of the veteran NYC fans!

I’d recommend local just for convenience. From my experience, Madison has the most stock. Our SA at Madison informed us that they’ve been asked to do less remote selling and to get customers into the boutique.

Tons of folks highly recommend Meat Packing. It hasn’t worked out for us, but it’s a great shop.

I personally like Wall St. but they get the least amount of stock. If you’re looking for a laid back shopping experience with great SAs and have the patience to wait a long time for a quota bag, Wall fits the bill.

have your current Bellagio SA given you a SA recommendation? I guess if you don't mind shopping in Vegas and like the store itself, I would see if there is another SA they can recommend... (or I can ask my B SA to see if she can take your account? but I dont know how that works in a store structure)

if I can get same service without traveling so far, I would like one closer to home

In a similar vein, I have a question as well. I currently live near my small-ish home store, with a wonderful SA and a good relationship with the store/manager as well. I will likely be moving, and the closest store would be Atlanta -- a few hours by car still, but my current store will be a couple hours by plane. It really irks me about Hermes that going to a different store basically means starting the relationship over, and isn't transferable, but I digress. Does anyone have a recommendation as to whether I should continue with my SA and just travel where possible, or go to Atlanta? Neither store would be exactly convenient, but Atlanta would be a bit easier. I am not a crazy spender to where I'd resemble anything close to a VIP in Atlanta, but am decently regular.

If you like working with your SA and have been successful with them, and since the new store isn’t that much more convenient, I would stay put. If the new store were only a few mins away, I would probably switch but if you can’t be a regular “just dropping by” client at either store, I’d stay with the one where you are already established. Unless you don’t care for your SA much, then take the opportunity to try somewhere new, I suppose.

Thanks for the thoughts, I'm inclined to agree. I guess I'll have to have a chat with my SA about what can be sent etc!
