hi, I know these posts are from awhile ago but I wanted to ask your thoughts on continuing an H relationship I started in person remotely when I move in a few weeks. I haven’t gotten a quota bag from my SA yet (about 5k USD total spend), but I would like one eventually. Do you think he would ship it to me? I feel it’s a bit forward to ask if he’d ship me a quota bag given he hasn’t offered me one yet. Thanks!

Hi, I had my quota bag shipped to me because I can't go to the store. My thought is when you are offered a quota and we are still in pandemic period, they would ask the SM for approval to send to you. If you have built a good relationship with your sa (I'm sure you have), it should not be hard to ask. It may come with an overnight shipping cost but for me it's worth paying if I can't go to the store or do a curbside pickup. Hope this helps!

Many stores (most?) have reverted to non shipment of quota bags as covid lockdowns have eased. I believe the only reason they started shipping to begin with was out of desperation to meet their 2020 sales goals after being closed for months and having a glut of inventory. Now that they’ve seen that they can still easily gets sales, they’ve decided shipping bags is not necessary for their bottom line and it is back to being exception based on customer history and high spend. You can of course ask but the further away from the pandemic we get, the less likely it will be for an exception to be made.

Thank you both! @acrowcounted that's kind of what I would have expected. I'm going to politely ask my SA about continuing our relationship and sending a quota bag remotely, since I don't really have a lot to lose anyway if he is offended or says no. Thanks again for the quick responses from both of you!

Just curious with lockdown or shelter in place orders how often you keep in touch with your SA? How often do you shop remotely? I used to drop in a fair bit because I am close to the store and I did some appointments before our most recent lockdown. I have a quite large pre-spend for a quota bag this year but there’s not much the appeals to me right now aside from rtw or non leather items not in stock. I won’t buy rtw remotely as my store only does exchange (no refund) and I need to try things. The fitting rooms have been closed since last March and I don’t see it opening even when our lockdown ends. I don’t want to buy things just to be kept in mind for a quota bag and everything I want that’s non leather isn’t in stock. I guess I could check in other those every so often but I don’t want to bother my SA as I know this is a stressful time.

I think it really depends on where you live and the state of the restrictions though. For example, no non-essential stores are permitted to be open where I am so we are still very much in the middle of the pandemic. And I wholly agree with you - a lot depends on how desperate they are.

Hi !
My sa stays in touch with me frequently during the shelter in place and I too text her often with items I see and want. Prior to pandemic I, like you, went to the store frequently but I feel I have purchased more over the pandemic. When she does not have the item in the store or there doesn't look like it will come to the store in the near future, she searches to see what store has it to ship to me. Hope this answers your question. Happy Sunday to you. :drinks:

I think I know the answer to this question, but I wanted to hear it from you guys.

There’s a pair of sneakers that caught my eyes a few weeks ago and I had texted my SA asking about it. She said they didn’t carry that style in her store, so she said she would order it from another boutique for me.

She just texted me now that she received the sneakers and asked if I wanted to make an appointment. What if I go in and try on the sneakers and decide that it won’t work for me? Is it bad to not buy them once she’s transferred them over?

Don't buy them if you don’t like them but also don’t make a habit of having items transferred unless you are pretty certain you will buy them. The store likely traded another pair of sneakers with the store that had the ones you wanted so they will be no worse off but it does take some time and effort on your SA’s part to arrange and facilitate the exchange so without the sale it will be wasted effort. I’ve only ever requested transfers for items I was 100% sure about purchasing and have indeed purchased all of them. Hopefully they’ll work for you and it won’t be a concern!

I appreciate the thoughtful response, @acrowcounted ! Hoping the sneakers (it's the color I'm more concerned about-- yellowish mustard color) will work out.

Curious which sneakers they are! But yes my SA has told me before that if I don’t like the item once transferred over it’s okay to turn down, but she has also laid it out where I should be almost certain I want the item before I ask her to look for it and transfer it over. And for shoes I totally understand it’s something you should try on first so it should be understandable if it really doesn’t work out. Hoping to see some pics! :D

So I know I’ve talked about taking a hiatus, but I went in the other day and ending up buying things haha well more like things I requested for months ago came in and I forgot about them. I may take a hiatus or just be more mindful as to what I buy.

but just thought I might get some feedback - my SA does not bother about asking for my wish list but given I just got a quota a few months ago I guess that makes sense? But she’s never asked regardless and it’s more a conversation I initiated. Also she’s given the indirect answer along the lines of - she doesn’t ask because my pre spend / profile isn’t ready and she will only ask when it’s almost ready / ready as she sees no point if she can’t offer me anything. Is this fair?

Also something that annoyed me was I sometimes I’d ask for things such as tableware, scarves, etc and sometimes she will never respond me about them and so I assume they don’t have them or she never got the chance to look into it and I didn’t bother following up and suddenly, she tells me they have arrived in the store. I’m like what did I ask for? I mean I guess she’s busy and got things done but didn’t get a chance to let me know? But there are also times she never responds about some items and I never hear back about them.

Apologies this post got a bit long, not sure what I’m really asking but just seeing if this happens to others too. Still so new and getting a feel of how things work since I also heard after the first quota the subsequent bags can be more difficult to come by? I’m located in Canada btw so pre spend is definite must :(

@litostar sometimes I think we expect too much of our SAs. If we were paying them ourselves (like you might pay an expensive lawyer or accountant or an interior designer for services) then yes we should expect top notch service. But we aren’t, and commission is not the same as you shelling out money for services. The SAs have hundreds of clients and are pretty busy while on shift. I don’t think they are expected to work overtime to respond to emails or texts they could not get to during the day.

As for your SA not asking you about your wish list: I see her perspective (indirect answer to you) as totally reasonable. I had an SA tell me how stressful it is for them to be constantly harangued by customers for a quota bag. It is the number one question they get and they often get people ask them in a rude and entitled way. It caused her so much stress she quit.

Just a different perspective!

I think it’s great she tells you when things come in. That’s good customer service in my book. I usually have to follow up.
