I could use some advice on what to do about this current Hermes quota bag season, and who better to ask than all of you. Last last year I sent my SA my wishlist which contained my most wanted bags. Of course this is pretty common place but here is my quandary, there are bags that I really want, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't say yes to other things that are offered. What should I do? Do I only stick to my top bags on the wishlist, or do I allow myself to be open to other Birkins and Kellys in other colors?

So my SA finally said to me that a bag in my wishlist is coming and she's trying to get it and hopefully has a good news for me soon. So excited!! I hope this is true and she's not just saying it for the sake of stringing me along :(

Do you all think this means I need to spend more to seal the deal? Or I can just wait? I'm not a big spender at all so if this sounds promising then I'd rather hold off my purchases for the next quota bag. So far I have spent around 1.2x (around 0.95x if minus rodeos and online purchases)

Aaahhhh this waiting game...I can't sleep!! :P :P

Thank you!!

I am not as tenured as many others here who could comment and give you advice, but I would still recommend making a point to try to come in or contact your SA every couple of weeks. Maybe inquire on a couple of things you are interested in, either now or in the future.

Thank you! Yes I will still come in and be in contact but not sure if I need to purchase more. Of course it's better if I can purchase more, but with limited $$$ I'd rather put towards the next bag :D

Online purchases not made in store with your SA don't count but rodeos count. I would just wait for SA to give updates (better if you know what time frame she has in mind and during that period don't bombard her with texts). If after a while there's no update then it's okay to ask if there's any good news.

I would rather make purchases along with the bag as a way to say thank you. I don't think at this point dropping more $$$ makes a huge difference.

Thank you!! That's actually great to hear and great idea to make purchases along with the bag. My SA said she doesn't know when it's coming tho :( but next month is my birthday so hopefully by then!!!! It will be my first offer from the boutique *Dreaming*

Heard people said rodeos don't count because it's considered "leather goods". Great if they count then! Should've purchased more when I was offered :P

Finger crossed you get good news by your Bday. The first offer is always a bit nerve wrecking as you and your SA are still getting to know each other.

To my knowledge leather goods count in most US boutiques unless your SA makes it clear to you that they don't. You can also ask if they make part of your profile and see how she responds. Some people say leather goods count less, but it really depends on a number of factors and how much "you are helping the store" by moving its merchandise. In the long run, it helps both parties that you are only buying things you like.

I bought a shawl recently, but I’m not sure if I like it. Will it be bad if I return the shawl and exchange for something else? SA ordered online for me, same day when I got the b25. I read from somewhere that it might affect SA or might make my profile look bad if I return or exchange stuff. Or am I thinking too much lol

thank you all

I haven’t bought any hermes items yet, and I do like some of the shoes and wallets. Other than shoes/SLGs I only want the Kelly sellier 20 or 25 in rose Sakura Phw and blue brume phw.

I feel like I don’t have interest in their other stuff enough that they would ever offer me to give a wishlist, or a kelly (especially in those details since they’re from what I understand very coveted color/size combos)

May I have some input on this,—does it make more sense to just buy the two Kellys via consignment/reseller instead? How much does one typically need to spend before getting asked for their wishlist?

I would go preloved for sure. You are really only asking for one bag because rose Sakura hasn’t been coming in sellier. Bleu brume seems to be one of the very popular color this year. I have three friends that are waiting for ANY bleu brume BKC but haven’t gotten any. I would say they are long term customer and also spend a decent amount.

Good to know. Thank you for your help!

I returned/exchanged items a couple of times. My SA is always very happy/open about it. At one time even I wasn't sure if I wanted to purchase something and my SA said "why don't you bring it home, show your husband, think about it for a couple days and if you're still not sure then bring it back for a return?". I'm sure my SA wouldnt recommend this if it makes my profile bad. Mind you this is a 5K item, so I'm sure returning a shawl should be fine :)

You shouldn't keep something that you don't love, period :)

You shouldn’t keep anything you don’t love agreed for sure. But I would also be careful about bringing things home for a test drive. Some stores don’t accept returns and some stores limit exchanges for a gift note to the category of purchase. I bought some RTW and had a change of heart on one piece which I could only bring back for credit note but then learned the credit note was limited to specific product categories. It’s the only exchange I ever made on significant H spend. You don’t get the fine print until your invoice is printed (ie the money is spent) so I would have expected someone to bring it to attention. There’s a lot of fine print at some H stores.I admit I should have looked more carefully after my first purchase but it leaves a sour taste on the mouth when it’s not mentioned upfront. Unless you have a significant wishlist, I’d return what you don’t want. I am at the point where I like my SA but sick of the idea I “need” to do things like keep or buy items I don’t want to keep her happy.

That's actually interesting. My SA said credit notes can be used for anything except Birkin/Kelly. It can even be used for a Constance.

I would be annoyed too if I were you :( I only buy things that I love but mostly my thoughts are "would I spend this much for this item if there's no bag?", "Would I buy this item now if there's no bag?". Sadly most of the time the answer is no, but I know what I got myself into when I started my H journey. At least it's still within my limit of spending, bag or no bag
