Your SA won't submit your profile for SM consideration unless she feels confident you will be approved. She must have a bag in mind if she's preparing so this is great news! Fingers crossed

thank you! I really do hope so!

Did your SA say for what bag? Unless there was a specific bag meantioned, it seems like an odd text and, to me, it reads as “you should come buy stuff to bolster your profile if you want the SM to approve you for a bag.” But texts are difficult to translate sometimes. Let us know how it ends up! Good luck!
Thank you! Yes it’s hard with text cause we’re not sure sometimes what it could mean. I worded it wrong, she said: she’s getting my profile ready for approval in case a bag that meets my specs comes in.
In which she said she’s hopeful.

so I don’t want to read too much into it in case I get disappointed but I’m hoping it’s something good soon. Haha sorry I’m totally contradicting myself here

Wow I’ve never experienced anything like this, it’s very exciting. Usually I’m already there in the boutique and she’s giving me an offer or they call me with an offer ready. But it sounds like your store is expecting to get the bag you want and your SA is getting ready to fight for you, lol. Hopefully you get your offer soon, good luck!

I do hope you get the bag before year-end. Would love to know as well how it goes. Keeping my fingers crossed for your size 25 bag.

Looking for some advice and insight please...

I've been shopping at my Hermes store since 2013 it was only in the last three years that I have been working closely with specific SA's. The first one was super nice and non-pushy, but she left to start a family. This year I started working with a different SA, she is very polite and professional, however very sales driven. With the first SA I was able to get 1 quota bag (last year) and with the new SA I was also able to get 1 quota bag (this year).

I am a good customer, I buy RTW, shoes, silks and watches. I never waste my SA's time and never visit just to get something small - it's always a decent amount. I've also preordered coats and dresses from the new SS21 RTW collection.

Now it's been six months since getting my first quota bag with her and I know my local store sells two bags a year to regulars (I'm in Europe) so I asked her about the next bag on my wish list. She was being vague in her response and not alluding to much other than she's made a wish list for me. A few weeks pass and I visit the boutique again (purchase RTW, shoes, and a watch) and I broach the topic of my bag again, my SA was being very cagey with her reply and in the end said I have to wait a year for my next bag. I have friends that shop at this store too and none of them was told this.

What would you do if you were in my situation? Is it time to move on to a new SA?

Country/region information really helps to give specific advice.

Hi All, (newbie here)
I just wanted to share my experience. I recently booked an appt (first local H visit for me) I figured if I wanted things to happen, I needed to make the go and finally did lol. I just wanted to hopefully meet the right SA and had no expectations during the visit. Arrived and was assigned very nice SA. Looked at some cups, but unfortunately everything I liked was sold out. Proceeded to look at some shoes and belts. We had some small talk and then I eventually asked about b/k. She said there was a waitlist which I wasn't surprised and then later she took out the sample bags for me to try and she thought b30 looked best on me. Also tried on the k25. Anyways she asked if I had a profile, I said no and then she handed me her phone to register all the info. After that she added k25 and b30 and suggested grey and dark tone colors for my wishlist. She didn't ask about leather or hardware. She also said black and gold were harder to get because everyone wants those colors and she said the other colors would be easier. We then exchanged numbers. She also placed an order for a rodeo in my name with the specs I wanted and would let me know when it came in. I also saw a few names quickly as she was scrolling, but she did say "there's a few ppl ahead of you" which I understand and not surprised. I'm not in a rush, but wanted to build my profile.
Sorry for the long post. Anyways just wondering if all of this was a good sign with her. Thank you and appreciate your insight.

It's a little hard to tell because there are so many variables (store location, local custom, etc.), but it sounds like a great start!

Hi everyone - been lurking on the Hermés forum for a while now. Haven't really had the courage (for lack of better term) to post but thought now might be as good as any to start participating in the awesome community.

My wife and my journey with H started about a year ago. We were vacationing in Paris and she had started to foray further into the world of luxury goods. We briefly stopped by the FSH (without really realizing the significance of that) and we walked out with a scarf. While in the airport, I snuck away to purchase another scarf in secret for Christmas present - which was very well received. A few months later, it was time for birthday present. At the time, I had a friend doing a 1 month fellowship in Italy and so I had them buy a clic clac bracelet for me since it was cheaper in EU than US. Unfortunately, the bracelet didn't make it back to me in time. So to avoid showing up empty handed, I visited our local Hermés boutique, where I met an awesome SA that listened to my dilemma and helped me pick out a new bracelet. This was around late 2019 to early 2020 (pre COVID).

This was basically the start of our relationship with our SA and he's just been awesome. Pre-COVID we had dropped in occasionally to look at other small things like bracelets and silk products, and naturally we just developed a super nice rapport with him. He was already asking about what was on the wife's wishlist and how long it might take etc etc. During this time, the wife and I started studying up on Hermés, the products, the history, the craftsmanship. While my wife likes the products, I love and appreciate anything that's thoughtfully and artfully crafted, from computers and software to luxury goods, so of course the everything Hermés strikes a chord with me.

Right as the shut down kind of let up a little bit and things were starting to reopen in the US, we went through a miscarriage. I had originally reached out to our SA in hopes of getting a super awesome push present. Obviously, we no longer needed one but after the miscarriage, I wanted to cheer the wife up a bit and thought a little retail therapy at Hermés might help. Prior to our appointment, I informed our SA of the change and that I am trying to cheer my wife up. Have I mentioned how awesome our SA is yet? Cause during that visit, we were offered a Noir Kelly 28 retourne with GHW in Togo (yeah he's the best - there's a story here with this store visit that I'll save for another time). The wife was literally speechless (her dream bag was a Kelly in a neutral color and knows how hard those can be to come by). We happily accepted despite our shock because we really haven't spent all that much - certainly not the 1:1 ratio everyone talks about here.

Since then we've visited a couple of more times and purchased some SLGs, belt, more silk products, a rodeo. During these visits, our SA is asking what next and the wife wants some mini bags - Roulis mini and Constance 18 (order not important). Our SA casually verifies the wishlist on subsequent visits. Wouldn't you know it, on one of our visits, our SA surprises us with a Rouge Coeur Constance 18 in Epsom with PHW as a Christmas present - making me the best husband ever.

Sorry for the rather long post but thought it might be interesting to share in this topic. Our SA always says “just be patient, the bags will come”. Fortunately, we did our best to be patient and have been pleasantly surprised. But I do think the relationship part matters - perhaps more than people are aware of, and frequent visits. Of course, with COVID and appointments, you can't just casually stroll in but if you get along with your SA and visit somewhat frequently, it’s not surprising to know that you’ll be on your SA's mind and they'll go bat for you to check off the wishlist. Sorry for the rather long post and thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Thank you for sharing your H journey in your TED talk! Nice to hear that you have a genuine relationship with your SA. And very sorry to hear about your miscarriage. :(

Hi Everyone,
I’ve started my Hermes buying history about a year ago and have been working with a SA. She’s nice and not pushy. During COVID, since I avoid going to the store as much as I could, I tried texting my SA about some small leather goods and bags. He usually replies, “I will let you know.” But, I never got a response back. I feel bad if I keep asking. Need some advice here. Do I follow up with another text or do I keep waiting for his response? Thanks!

I would email the SA again asking for a shopping appointment day/time and remind them what you are hoping to purchase. If you don’t get a response within a few days, I’d call the store and ask for SA. They will let you know when the SA will be available.

New to Hermès. My first visit to the H boutique I purchased a Picotin. Almost two months later I recently returned, although I had kept in touch with my nice SA via text in-between visits. I made a smaller purchase, but while I was there she asked if there was anything else I'd like to see. I asked about a 24/24 which she went in the back because she recalled seeing one, but came back saying someone had just bought it. She went ahead and updated my profile to include this bag with the specs I was looking for, in addition to the Evelyn TPM already on my list. I then asked if by chance she has a mini Lindy, which I was not surprised to be told she has not seen one in the boutique for a long time, and if I see one online to just grab it right away. I asked if she could add it to my profile, and she said she could not because the system would not even let her. I have a great SA and I trust her: I am not questioning her. Just want to ask all of you experienced Hermès ladies and gents for your insight: I thought you could put anything you are pining-after on your wishlist? As I understand it, people are adding Birkins and Kelly to their wishlist, which are not readily available/have to be made, either. At first I thought the system would not allow her to add it due to my "newness" as an H client and therefore small spend, but the mini Lindy isn't a quota bag, besides which, I believe the 24/24 costs more and was able to be added to my profile. I have also heard of the not-all-that-common luck of some people being offered a hard-to-get bag (B or K) before even spending all that much. Any insight? I'm in the U.S. btw, if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance.
