Typically, Hermes SAs only communicate on their days in store. Some stores are very strict that way, while a few bend the rules. For example, my store is strict and SAs are not allowed to take home their Hermes phones which they use to text/email clients. I have some friends that shop in other areas of the US and get communications even on the SA's day off.

As much as I want immediate response to my messages, I know it's not fair to ask someone to be responding to client requests on their days off. I think it also has to do with the individual SA and if they mind the intrusion on their personal time.
Same here though they did finally let them have their phones in April while the stores were closed. I also wonder in the case of Chicago, if the SM doesnt want the SAs communicating too much until they have a better understanding of the plan going forward.

Earlier in the pandemic the Chicago store allowed their employees to have their phones. However, recently they limited the employees to only having access to their Hermes phones during the time they were at the store. It is likely that the employees do not have access to their phones because of the abrupt departure from the store this time.

Yes, same here. My SA had his phone during lockdown but now with the store open (by appointment) he has to leave it at the store.

Thank you for your suggestion  .

I did email him the day I heard of the looting to say hope he’s safe & well - I immediately thought of the employees when I heard Hermes was targeted. I have yet to hear back. Even in the few weeks prior to this he only replied to emails on days he was in store. So that’s why I’m wondering if I’ll hear back.

Is it the norm that Hermes SA’s only communicate during days they are on the clock and only via boutique phone line and email? This is the only thing Ive experienced thus far. I find it strange that with such high end merchandise that contact wouldnt be more personal. My Chanel SA contacts me even on her off days and via text.
My H SA texts, calls and emails working or not. I think it’s up to them. When the boutique was closed she used her own cell.

Thank you all for sharing your knowledge. I truly appreciate it!

Being 'new-ish' to the Hermes world and super excited about it, I have all these questions. Also, knowing that I am in the position to purchase another gorgeous bag it's difficult being patient! LOL

I definitely understand that, when SA's are off the clock they should obviously not expect to be bothered  Was just interesting to me that in the world of luxury goods it wasn't across the board that SA's all text their clients. Especially with a brand that puts so much value in building a 'relationship' between client and SA.

I actually Googled Hermes Chicago after getting a few responses to this post and it showed it was 'open' today (the other day it showed it was currently closed) so I thought I would try to call and see if they were taking phone calls even though the boutique wasn't open for shopping. I was able to leave a voicemail so I did so requesting for my message to be relayed to my SA. Fingers crossed they will be doing as you all stated, even if not open for in person they will be able to work behind the scenes :graucho:

Chicago is my home store and I've been with the same SA for 5-6 years now. Their work phones were stolen when it was looted, so that could be why he isn't responding. The best way to contact them is via email (for now), but you may also get a slow reply. I know they're working hard to open the store back up-- I drove by the day after looting and saw windows being installed already. To my knowledge, they won't reopen for at least a few weeks.

Your purchase history at Chicago will not be considered if you visit a different store. Keep in mind that your SA can see ALL your purchase history. If you choose to change stores and still try to get a b/k at Chicago, you'll likely be waiting forever.

I'd also like to note that Chicago is still taking phone orders! If they have it in stock or if they can order it from a different store, they will. They'll ship it to your home because they're closed to the public. I'm sure your SA and the Chicago managers will greatly appreciate your patronage, especially right now. I'm sure that buying stuff now will help you get your next bag *wink*

Thank you so much! I'm so happy to have gotten feedback from TPF'ers for whom Chicago is your home store.

Good to hear that phone orders are still happening. I will put on my big girl pants and be patient . I'm just trying to educate myself on the H etiquette. Unfortunately for me, no one in my circle of friends is as bag obsessed as I am so I must search out these answers from TPF.

Though my experience with my SA is limited, it was wonderful. He was so kind and I look forward to working with him more. I was saddened to hear that the boutique was looted and damaged. It was wonderful to see on another thread here that as a company H is continuing to pay their employees during this trying time and without assistance. Bravo!

Thank you for sharing that information  I'm so happy to hear that they are not letting the looters win. This will keep me from wondering if I will ever be in touch with him again.

Good to hear that you have seen with your own eyes that repairs are being made in Chicago and they are not letting the looters win!

Thank you for the tip to have some patience and not squander my budding Chicago H relationship. I appreciate it & will heed your advice.

Dear all,

I know this has been brought up numerous times but a few days ago I read on the Chinese app (Red) that now the European systems are linked, i.e. the quota bags and the purchase history. Just wonder if anyone has heard anything recently? The person mentioned his/her SA could see the quota bag he/she got earlier in Paris this year.

Thanks in advance!

Interested as well, but specifically for EU. Seen dozens of posts to systems not being linked, but are all purchases in EU countries seen by any EU SAs?

I just learned in Amsterdam that Europe is divided into groups and within those groups the SA can see your purchases. Scandinavia and the Netherlands are one group. Though I buy in Germany and France as well, the SA could see that I have accounts in these 2 countries as well, but not what and how many items I have bought. In Europe the SA does not earn by commission, the whole store does as a group. I was encouraged to buy things on the webside if they don’t have what I want in the store.
