I ve never been offered an SO and have shopped steadily for maybe 5 or 6 years. Mostly small things, though we did buy a table ( still trying to erase the cost of my scarred memory) which was a big ticket item. I do find that if I want something I ask and it eventually materialises. I don’t know if I should ask for an SO just to see.
Just ask. If you bought a table, I don't see why the SA won't let you do an SO! Just my thoughts.

Just wanted to get some thoughts about the current SA I'm working with. So I've been buying from her for about 4 months so it's a pretty new relationship but I've made sure to buy something every month so far. The last time when I went in to order something, I was told that they are doing a purge on wish lists because the system is overloaded and I'll probably have to make a new one again which is fine with me. However, today I was told that they purge the wishlist every month and I just have to keep going in cause now it depends on the SA's memory of what their customers want. And by going in, will help jot their memory. To be honest, while I'd like to give the benefit of doubt, I also can't help but think that this is so weird so wanted to hear if anyone is experiencing the same. The SA has been very friendly each time I visit but this just makes me wonder if I should move to a different store instead or wait out a few more months? Recommendations/advice appreciated from you all!

Never heard of something like that from H. You can text or e-mail your SA so your SA doesn't forget, right? But, it reminded me of an uber-wealthy Asian mall tycoon. He said before that if they put in various attractions/designs/decorations/promotional items/seats/or even just a staff member chats with the customers inside his mall..and they are able to keep their customers who are “just looking around” for at least 15 minutes, chances of them finding something interesting in that time frame and purchasing something from their mall is extremely high (whether it’s coffee, water, a snack, a purse, shoes, etc). Yes, they only need about 15 minutes. Since Hermes is a marketing genius, that might be one of their new tricks to keep their customers checking in each and every time. And as we know it, if you are an H addict, you will always find something you like every visit!

To me it sounds like they are just putting words to the way it’s always operated at my US stores. I’ve never experienced a formal/written wishlist. My SA just knows my style and knows that I’m interested in small bags, bright colors, and silver hardware only and so they think of me when a fitting bag arrives. Obviously the more often you shop and the more you purchase, the more you will be at the front of their mind.

I've been hearing about them purging wishlists for customers who don't have a shopping history with a store. It's probably a hint that they want you to keep going in. If you like your SA and they're friendly, then that's a great thing. If go to a different store, you'll have to start your spend all over again.

The new meatpacking store in NY has wishlists on SAs' company phones so they can keep track for their customers. I was told by my SA recently.

IMO whether they truly "purge the list" or not isn't the most important thing. What's obvious is the intent behind that statement - your SA is saying that you should come to the store frequently (e.g. once a month) to increase the chance of getting your dream bag.

Whether you think that's something you can do is the real question here...and totally up to you.

By the way my store definitely has SAs who forget their clients' wishlist. I've heard that both from former clients who switched to a different store, and from my SA (who told me that she feels bad for that SA's clients). So it's entirely possible that they can forget (whether it's a list being purged or them not having an official list to keep track of). Going in frequently does tend to increase the chances of getting a bag, especially with stores that have a more local clientele (versus touristy ones), or perhaps your SA or your SM prefer clients who visit frequently when they make bag decisions (which is understandable).

Some SAs are happy to be very direct and open with you (instead of trying to find excuses) so if that's what you prefer, you could try letting your SA know (assuming they are also fans of that style). But again, I think whether this "purge" is an excuse or not, the important thing to focus on may be the message behind it! Are you able to follow it and try visiting frequently, or is it something difficult for you and makes you consider switching SA/store? I say it's up to you. Good luck!

Four months is pretty new so I wouldn't worry about it. My SA has a gazillion clients so I have never had the feeling that he even remembers what products we talk about from visit to visit. He does always know the one bag that I want next, and I have seen him put that in his phone. As far as my other wants, I just text or email before every visit and let him know what I'll be stalking on that visit. He was fairly cool though for quite awhile until he was sure I was going to be a reliable client. I agree that what they are trying to tell you in a round-about way is that they want you to come in. And of course buy things .

Hi there! I recently started shopping at a local Hermes boutique, where I met my SA. About a month ago, my SA offered me a Constance bag (my first offer from him), which I thanked him for, but ultimately declined. When I declined it, I told him that I really had my heart set on a Kelly bag, so I was going to hold out for that instead.

He texted me this week to let me know the store is closed indefinitely, but asked if there were any items I was interested in so that he could pull them aside for me when the store reopens. There isn't really anything I'm dying to have at the moment...should I remind him of my interest in a Kelly bag? So far, I've spent about $11k with him over the last couple months. I live in a big city. When I told him originally that I was interested in a Kelly, he didn't tell me that I needed to spend more or anything like that -- he asked what colors I like and told me they'd be getting more stock next month.

My question is, should I be forward with him and remind him of my interest in a Kelly, or do you think he already remembers and I should play it cooler? How long do you typically wait between telling them your bag interest and then reminding them if you haven't received an offer?
