Hi all, I am wondering if there's a polite way to tell your SA that I am on the ban island... I was invited to check out new season items but I am not in the position to buy anything now (unless it's a bag offer). I don't wanna go in and waste my SA time but I am worried if she is going to surprise me with a bag offer (since I am way over spend ratio and have not been offered a bag this year). Any thoughts are welcomed. Thank you very much!
Mhm, I have an experience of dropping from a very high spender to let's say 1:1 ratio and every 2-3 months visits (just wasn't that interested after stocking up with many items) and I immediately dropped out from everything starting from bags offers, items on order not delivered (eg. a gold ring) to an event invite (though my overall spend was way higher than ppl invited). The store is in Europe. Really sad (apart from the event as maybe recent spend really mattered) as thought in Europe overall relationship mattered. My point is that it can go various ways when you go on a ban island.

That's sad to hear. I guess at the end of the day the relationship with a SA is just purely business.

Of course, no doubt here but seems in my store long term relationship doesn’t exist and taking a break means resetting the whole thing. Also, even 1:1 spend in my country is quite a lot so I’m honestly disappointed. I guess though it's a store where manager got fired, don't think it happens often so maybe it's something about that particular place.
Well, luckily I’ve moved to another country and when I feel I will want to spend more, I’ll put my bet on them.

I’m new to this thread.. I have quick question about QB and offer from SA. I’ve been shopping with my SA for a year, my pre-spend is almost 2:1 and I have a birkin on my wish list since the beginning. I keep waiting but SA never asks me anything about QB. So I have recently asked her about it but she told me that the inventory is very low.

I know that other people are able to get offer QB at the same store. My question is: Does my pre-spend not enough? Or SA doesn’t like me?

I’m not sure is it the right thread to ask. If not, please help navigate my post to the right one.
TIA
Do you go into the store or are these long distance questions to waikiki? That store in particular seems to prefer face to face “surprise“ offers (and not to talk about it over text/email/phone) so if you aren’t there in person, it’s unlikely, imo, that you will get an offer.

I asked my SA via text and she told me that she can’t guarantee any bag because there are a lot of customers requesting bags.

Right, my point is, for this store it is likely that the answer over text will always be no/probably not, even with a trip already planned. The two options you gave, “Does my pre-spend not enough? Or SA doesn’t like me?” aren’t the only two options and the likely fact is just that she’s not going to/allowed to commit to anything over text. I’m not saying the answer is actually a “yes” but rather that asking over text is useless. Unfortunately, being in person is the only way to know. (That being said, Birkins, especially size 25 if that’s your goal, seem to be in low production right now compared to Kellys so that could be hurting you too.)

Thanks a lot for your points! I am looking for B30, not sure if it’s a high demand bag now.

I second this. And your conversations with your SA also kind of matter as it can give hints but also still feel like a gamble as a remote shopper. My SA told me that RTW for spring 2023 is now available for preview in store and to take a look at inventory so I flew this weekend instead of my trip in December and my second QB was waiting for me. Waikiki has gotten more competitive since I joined and it hasn’t been a year for me. The more visits you do, the better.

The reality is that no SA can is ever in a position to guarantee a bag.
Skilled SAs respond to clients in ways that enable the clients to interpret what has been said in ways that encourage clients to believe that a bag offer will be made, even if not today.
At the present time the excuse of limited supply and insufficient bags to meet demand is an easy way to say 'No' to a customer and still enable the customer think that they will be offered a bag some time.
Reading this forum it is easy to come to the conclusion that in Asia customers are sometimes told if they spend x today, they can be sold a bag they are looking at.

If you read enough of this forum you should quickly come to the conclusion that there is nothing you can do to guarantee QB offers. The sooner you accept this and stop calculating or considering pre-spend amounts and ratios, the happier you will be.
Everybody's experience is different and it is not possible to extrapolate with any degree of confidence.

Do you mind if I ask how often do you shop with your SA in Waikiki? Do you always fly there to shop or remote only? I’m pretty busy so can only visit during holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas. I understand that there will be a lot of customers during these times so more competitive.

I do both! We are in Hawaii pretty often and that is the only reason why I was ok with making it my home store. My SA and I will discuss what items I like during my visit and if it’s in stock, I buy. If not, my SA will text when it is in stock and sends me the link to buy remotely.

Hi! I need some help with building SA relationship. My problem is that I live on an island that has no store. I travel a lot, but I don’t usually go to the same place more than twice a year. I love H products, and buy them all over the place, but now was thinking if there’s a way to starting a relationship to potentially be offered a quota bag (as I won’t be able to see SA in person every 2-3 months, rather 1-2 times a year). Would you recommend trying in New York or London? And did anyone have their orders delivered overseas through their SA?
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thank you!

It’s best to at least stay within your own country if you are going to be requesting for them to ship you things regularly. I’d pick whichever store is easiest/cheapest to get to within a few days notice in case you ever need to pick up an offer quickly. Many of us dont live near a store and have to make it a priority to travel to our store of choice semi often to keep the relationship working. It’s much more difficult these days with the low inventory and hit-or-miss responsiveness of SAs but if you are willing to go out of your way to make it work, it can.

Personally, I would let them know that you acquired the bag already and to just let someone else have it to sell or offer.
I ran into a similar scenario where an an advisor had told me if I wanted a bag in color X size Y and hardware Z; I kid you not, the very next day I was just browsing another Hermes location in the state and I asked about a bag and offered color X size Y and hardware A. I bought it and a few weeks later, I get a call from the first advisor on the other side of the state and let me know the bag came in for me and if I can pick it up. I felt so bad that they went through the effort to holding the bag or securing it for me on the upcoming inventory. I said I wouldn’t be able to since I just bought one the other day at a different location.
I don’t think they take offense, but perhaps it would be good to advise them so that you can continue to have a good rapport with them should you choose to down the road.
Note to this day, I still see both advisors and shop often, though my wallet may need a break as both locations are just opposites when it comes to stocks like I can go to both places and they won’t have what the other has and it’s funny to find what I want in one and what I need in the other.
I think with that my relationships with the two locations are good. We generally have things to talk about even if it’s not too personal and our rapport I feel is on the good spectrum enough so that I was offered another bag within a few days of getting offered a Birkin at another location.
Just be true to yourself though, if you feel a bit of guilt on hiding a bag you love and want to use then it’s probably best to come clean. Otherwise if you can totally just go in the store and never mention it, then that’s fine too. Think it’s all on personal preference (: good luck and definitely enjoy your bag!
I would love your take on my situation. I travel between my home store and New York, and my SA has outright told me that if I find something or am offered something I like in New York, I should just take it. So fast forward 6 months, I have actually spent more in NYC than I have at home, but my spending is split across 2 locations, and I’m not going to be a “big fish” in New York. Should I focus on my home store and just be patient, even though I know stock is being rerouted to favor NY? Am I missing any subtext from my home store SA? Will my NY spend be considered in the quest for that elusive first QB or am I making things for difficult for mysef?
