Since your SA is not available, consider asking your home store SM if he could have the bag sent to your store which shows loyalty.
He will say no and then discuss the possibility of getting one at your store.
If he cannot guarantee that, I would buy the one offered. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
They will find out that you have purchased it from your profile later, it isn’t like you can hide that unless you use another name and if that comes out it would be deemed deceptive imo.

I like this approach if you have a good relationship with your home SA. As others have mentioned (assuming you are in the US), croc Constance's are not that difficult to come by and aren't quota bags in the US so your home SA should be able to source if she knew that you were interested to begin with.

Thanks for the banter.I am in US. My SA is out for weekend I tried to email her. (Didn’t think of trying SM)I think given that croc C may not be that hard to source( whatever that means in H language) I will pass and talk to my SA. If it’s meant to be it will come around again ( I think) did I mention blue is my absolute favorite color H or otherwise) especially dark blue which this bag is...suggestions were really helpful!
PS I wouldn’t do the name switch thing..not trying to get over but the SA at the store had already taken my info prior to the offer

Strange but honestly I felt like I shouldn’t dare turn this down... I know that is crazy

It is amazing how complicated things can get with H. How long can you have the bag on hold before you need to make a decision? If you have the time, maybe call the SM and explain that you have been offered a dream bag and ask if they have the ability to do the same for you in the near future. I try to always give my home store a chance to get me the things I want, particularly the more expensive things like jewellery and watches. This spring they tried to get me a shawl in a cw they had not ordered. I could have bought it in Rome but did not since I was still hopeful my store would be successful in the world wide request. Unfortunately they could not get hold of it. When I mentioned to my SA I saw it in Rome, she said I should have bought it there. I thus interpret her response that it is ok for me to buy things elsewhere if they don't have the item I want. I think it is also because my store is so small and they know their inventory is limited.

Another thing to consider, if the combo (colour, size, hw) of this particular bag is a must, then it might be better to buy it now. It might not be available later.

This happened to me earlier this year. I was offered a surprise dream bag as a walk-in in another store, same country. The bag combination was so specifically unique that I didn't turn it down. When I later spoke with my SA, she told me those specific specs (size, leather, color, hardware combo) never came into my home store, so I'm very glad I jumped at the chance.
That said, I think it depends on your tastes. I'm very specific in what I'm looking for. But if you're looking at croc C18s in general and not specifically this marine blue, maybe wait for your SA.

If it is an unusual offer and you like it, buy it. You'll never know if the unusual specific item you like will show up soon in your home store and that you'll get first dibs on that..unless you got something in writing from your SA. Sometimes you ask for a Constance (or whatever H item you like) and your SA says it's not available. And you are still cool with it. The other times, the Constance is available and offered to you by another SA..and your home store SA is not available..but you can of course buy it if you want to. And she should be cool with it as well. I think that all is fair in love, war, and in H. Just my personal opinion.

I changed my SA today.

I mean, I knew there was something wrong with my current SA. I was feeling uncomfortable with her.
I met SA 1 back in March at a boutique where I use to go on weekends, and purchased a few items from her (Clic H, Twillys, home goods) before asking her THE question about my wish to acquire a Birkin 30.

She took my wishlist but I could feel some disconnection between us, her way to make me clearly understand that I would have to make all purchases from her before getting any bag offered ... I don't know it was weird. Maybe it's our age difference, she was acting like she was waaay superior than me...:whut:

Nevertheless today I went to my local city boutique (where I use to make all my purchases) and I met a very lovely young lady - and we just clicked. NOW I understand you guys when you say you have such lovely SA's.
SA 2 is just so nice and friendly and down to earth.
I was looking for the bracelet Chaines Enchainées and she was really listening to what I wanted, giving advice as well on new Carrés and how to tie etc...
I finally purchased the bracelet and a Carré Animapolis.

Then when I was checking out, I told her about my wishlist and SA 1 and the bad feeling I had with her.
Her reaction totally surprised me: she said that no SA had the right to force any customers to purchase from them, that there is no amount of money to be spent in order to get offered a dream bag (at least in my country), and that she would be delighted to have my wishlist if I feel uncomfortable with SA 1.
She was just so nice and we chatted about my wishlist, she was very open and transparent, not like SA 1 who was behaving like it was a big taboo to talk about dream bags.

I have no regrets for having changed SA. I feel so happy to have met this lovely lady today! I can now start my H Journey for good!

Glad to hear this. You are the customer at the end of the day - no SA should bully you like this. Your new SA sounds lovely. Best of luck to you and hope your new relationship is a fruitful one
