Magenta vs Amethyst Pink

can enlighten what the color difference between the 2?
Been searching all forum and online shop and they look the same?

Amethyst is a vivid purplish-pink, and from my understanding, magenta is more of a rose. (I'm madly in love the amethyst; it's super-saturated and gorgeous!)

I think the magenta is represented well by this magenta step (http://shop.realdealcollection.com/product.sc?categoryId=17&productId=485) (thanks, Corey!) (you may need to try this link more than once...)

Magenta is more pink and Amethyst is more of a purple-pink. Amethyst is such a rich, saturated color, it's adorable!! Between those two colors, NO contest!! the winner is Amethyst!

I LOVE amethyst! Magenta seems to be tiny bit warmer than amethyst.

I prefer Amethyste over all the other magentas and pinks! I have 3 Amethystes!!

Amethyst is multi toned. You see the beautiful tones under different lighting condition. Under sunlight i see the blue-ish tones. Or is it purplish.

Magenta is flat. Amethyst def. has more depth.

Amethyst is a very deep saturated color...to me it has almost an electric look, it is very bright. Magenta is a flatter color.
