I, now, know what you mean about the strap. I finally got it to lay as flat as it would but it's still not totally flat because there isn't enough room on the tiny ring for both strap and handle, IMHO. I considered returning it until I fiddled around and got it to stick out less. How are you dealing with this issue?

I haven't use mine yet. I tried it on at the store and the SA told me it would soften with time (I'm hoping the saffiano won't soften!!). Then she suggested that if I wasn't going to close the bag, I could tuck the strap inside the bag. That worked. But then the zipper is open. (BTW, so glad the zipper isn't breakaway!)
I will have to try it on again and see what I can do with that handle.

I'm not sure how what the SA said about the saffiano softening will help. Do you? It seems to be the size of the loop that holds both the handle and clip for the long strap..... No?

Well, I decided to 'cut the tag' and keep her, because I love the color and hardware, and she really does hold quite a bit w/o being heavy. I went out on some errands and tucked the handle inside the bag (zipper open) when wearing it cross body. Which worked fine, as my things were at the bottom of the bag and the weight against my body basically closed the top up. Plus I usually like to use handles on bags and don't do cross body much.
I have fiddled with the handles and just cannot figure out how to get that outside one to lay flat.

But why didn't Coach put the strap attachments on the inside of the top like they did on the mini tanner!?

I had a mini tanner got about 2 minutes before the ring holding the long strap fell off while I was walking down a mall. I stepped right into the Coach store and exchanged it for a Courtenay.

Oh no, that wasn't good! I tried the mini tanners at the store two separate times, and just couldn't figure out how to easily work the zipper. So cute though. I thought I read about some of the saffiano straps having issues, cracking maybe. I don't remember for sure.

There was a time in my mommy life when crossbody style was a must, now I can do other styles.

Yes!! I wore mine a couple of times and didn't care for the handles not laying flat or the type of leather (I like my soft pebbly leather). I just re homed it last week. Took a loss, but in the end, it's not worth keeping if it's not "love".
I hope you can possibly figure something out. The Saffiano leather does seem very durable and the mini tote is cute.

I tried attaching the strap to the zipper pull. Which works (as far as letting the handle lay flat) but it looks a bit weird from the side, and I don't think it would be good for the zipper pull after time.
