The lovely TPFers, I need your help.

I have only recently ventured into the H world and have been spending healthy amount for the past couple of month.

I was in my home store last week trying to find a bag that could take my work laptop in it. My lovely SA couldn’t think of any, so she called the SM over; the SM then started to talk about how Hermes could make one to my preference.

I was in a rush to somewhere else that moment, so didn’t think into it.

It struck me just now, was the SM offering a special order to me that moment?!

Any thoughts are welcomed! I would be kicking myself if indeed that is what the SM was implying but I didn’t pick it up right there and then!

Your SM is offering you the chance to make a unique customised bag under Horizon orders. This will be totally new and designed and made for you by Hermes. It will cost a healthy amount as well.

I will once I come up with a rough idea of “my” bag! One thing that concerns me, given I have no design background whatsoever, what if the bag that I come up with is not handsome or practical at all and I will be regretting the waste of the leather and the craftsmanship let alone the waste of my hard earned money.

How did you enjoy your outcome? Have you been using it often?

Just this week I came up with an idea for a bag I’d love to have made....an amalgam/“improvement” of other bags in production. It was so obvious to me I wonder whether it has been done before.

I will definitely ask my SA about this book! Thanks!!

@beerbee One doesn't need to worry too much about designing the item as many friends have expressed to me their worry about lack of creative ideas or know how. I have the feeling Hermes prefers to present a design they create for you, as after all the design team probably has years of bag design experience. It will always have the signature of the Maison and include something personal for you. The easiest way is to make the initial appointment and describe your perfect work bag and the items which go into it and your normal day/ work trip/ lifestyle etc. They can take it from there. The other main alternative is to request a bag which is not in collection (not being produced at present) from the archives which is super easy and straightforward. You get to choose the leather and possibly customise some aspects. I think there is a slimmer version of the Victoria which may be suitable for you to consider. The upsize is the time taken will be much shorter and cost might be lower too.

Thank you Periogirl28! Yes, that most important first step!

We are on the same page! My first instinct was to check out Victoria and Victoria briefcase too! I tried on both in store and they are both beautiful. A slimmer, slightly taller Victoria with shoulder strap will be perfect! Going to my home store next week and wish me luck！

Just leaving the suggestion of a specially designed bag for a moment -
I don't fully understand your predicament - there are loads of bags that would take a laptop.
What extra features are you requiring that rule out Sacs a Depeches, 35/40 Birkins, Kellys, HACs, Citybacks to name but a few?
