I’m not sure if it differs from store to store. But at my store, I was charged a deposit for the full amount when I placed the order. The deposit shows up as a credit on your account and It’s not actually applied to the M2M item you ordered until the item actually arrives and you purchase it. Strangely enough I was able to use that credit on my account to pay for something else I purchased before the M2M shirt arrived so I had to pay in full when the M2M order finally arrived a year later. So there’s no actual hold on the deposit.
My experiences for the shirts is that you purchase the silks required and also pay half of the expected labor fee. Then when the shirt is delivered, you pay the other half of the labor fee.
Now pay in full. I believe others have reported prior experiences where a half deposit is required.

(Was rather hard to source them from different boutiques but my SA organized that) Then paid 1/2 deposit for shirt once the scarves were found and shipped.
When I had measurements done, paid balance in full
Summer 2023
Now waiting for my mock - up to arrive from Paris
Hopefully this Fall 2023
Really hoping it’s done for the winter holidays 2023
But with Hermes, who knows?

Good to know. I think it was 25% deposit when I did it way back. Getting another one soon.
Update: I visited FSH in late August... and the tailor was on vacance until September, so unfortunately I was not able to do the M2M shirt as I hoped! My SA apologized and said "next time, my dear." I know I could try to do it in NYC but I wanted it as a special souvenir from Paris, so I'll just try again next time I visit.I asked my RTW SA at FSH about doing a made to measure shirt when I visit and he said it would be possible. Although he said there is only one cut available, men's style, but it would be chic he said.
Gives me another reason to go back lol!Want to give an update on the process. We are required to pick from an approved list of scarves for the shirt now. So it will make sense to get that sorted with your SA before the actual M2M event, which I did. Given the current shortage on everything, it is better to be prepared.

Hi @TankerToad ! Did your M2M shirt arrive yet? Just wondering how long it took from measuring to muslin mock up? Thanks!
I did M2M initial visit on 9/20/23 and my SA told me the mock ups were ready 12/14/23.
It was only a few months wait for my mock up from Paris
I had quite a few adjustments to it so was glad they do it this way
Mock up fitting was September 2023
Hoping this spring 2024 for it to arrive -
