LV x Kusama Collection 2023 - what to buy??

Hi @claravi and all here. I’m intending to get this same NeverFull MM collab with the pumpkin motif (I love anything pumpkin themed). I’ve bought LV only at CDG so avoid the VAT refund process (easiest way as I prefer not to deal with standing on any line if I can avoid it), but wish to buy this bag online at the French LV site (have placed said bag in my wishlist there) and will have it shipped to US since I won’t be in France ‘til summer. So question is: if purchased online & shipped to states, will the VAT be deducted from price (currently listing at €2060)? Thanks for any help on this!

I haven’t tried to purchase online from LV in another country, but I know for most brands if they have boutiques in the US you cannot purchase from the French site. Have you tried to put your shipping address in yet? It might not allow you to do so. And VAT refund is only for foreigners with a foreign passport purchasing physically there IN another country. It doesn’t apply to online purchases.

Yes, I understand your speculation on this topic After my posting here, I did email the French LV customer service as I do often travel to France and was planning on April as well as summer as have family & friends there (though not in Paris itself), but given all the protests, it’s going to be summer only. So, whether it’s possible to ship to me (or a LV boutique) stateside as well as whether VAT will be deducted or not, I await the answer to that.
I’ll post on this forum thread what the response is soon after I receive it. Thanks again!

I may not understand your post but I don’t think you can order from the French LV site and have it shipped to the United States..

I agree with the others. You could ship to an adress in France, but VAT will apply.

Hi from Paris! Omg the VAT battle. I worry not only won’t you get refunded (since it’s tourism benefit) but would you also get hit with US customs and duties? Is the bag not available near you? There are some tricks with VAT (for instance I know a few expats who are now residents here who still do their VAT refunds ) but if you find an end run around this one, you’d be really on to something! Good luck!

Agree, u can't ship online orders made from another country to be shipped to your own country. I have asked n confirmed with my local CA regarding a model which is not available in Singapore but it's available Europe, if the bag can be ordered online in Europe n then be shipped to Singapore. She said no n said it's becoz of exchange rate n taxation differences. U can't order via your CA thru LV physical stores for the bag to be shipped from overseas either as these bags r exclusive to that specific county if its not made available to domestic market. Was actually eyeing that Yayoi's floral design on speedy 25 emprinte leather in black but it's not available here

The bag is readily available in the US. I’ve seen it in several boutiques here.

LV won’t ship you a bag from another country.

Workaround is if you find a personal shopper, or a CA that is willing to ship worldwide (you can find them on instagram, if you look hard enough). But with the personal shopper fees you will ultimately pay them, and the duties you will owe the US, just buy it in America.

The other option is to just wait until the summer, so you can get the bag yourself when you go to France.

I find the orange pumpkins to be a bit hard to not look too much like an autumn outfit… I have used my pumpkin bag’s blue side more. I saw a girl with an outfit I would try if I had a Kusama scarf, which is folding it diagonally and wearing over shoulders, over a coat and monochrome outfit so more of the full design is visible. She was wearing almost full on light blue and it rly worked.

Thank you! Yes, I prefer the blue side actually - the orange was just more visible when I took it out of the box, ha!

I normally wear big scarves with the "bias fold" so it becomes linear, but maybe I'll try the "handkerchief" style showing the blue and see if that helps - thank you! The ice blue background is also really pretty.

I love this, personally. I like that you can fold it to give a glimpse of colour or a full pumpkin. How does the fabric feel to you? I would have considered it for myself but wool always brought me out in a rash when I was younger so I just avoid it now.
