Never take it out if it's raining kr going to
Rain. No lotions on ur hands if ur going to hold it by the handles and wear it on ur arm
Or shoulder as much as possible.

It's like a race to get the patina before the dirt. I leave my bags near a window to get the light, and turn them over like a rotisserie chicken. Seriously, this works. You can also bring them outside to sit in the sun. The light speeds up the oxidation process.

I also condition the vachetta with Applegard conditioner. This doesn't really make the leather any darker but it helps to repel dirt and moisture. If raindrops fall on vachetta that's been conditioned they just dry and disappear. This is the conditioner recommended by mypoupette. Go to the mypoupette website for care instructions. I've been using this conditioner for 10 years. I have no dirty bags.

As far as your NF, you should clean the leather with leather cleaner. (applegard is good and so are the Brighton leather care products if there is a Brighton boutique near you) Wait a couple of hours after cleaning and then condition it.

If you have black marks you can try "Magic Eraser" which is a white sponge type material. They sell it at Home Depot, I'm not sure where else. Use this gently, don't scrub really hard.

Applegard has a cleaner, too, but I prefer the Brighton cleaner they sell for the Brighton handbags. You can get it an any boutique that sells Brighton bags or on line, at brightoncollectibles dot com.
