Yes - you nailed it. I’m told the peeling on the back is normal wear and tear. Waiting to see if anything can be done about the pocket.

so they are high tension areas and will experience some wear and tear. from my experience, the tx factory made bags experience wear and tear prematurely compared to the european counterparts. i think it's the way they cinch those spots (relatively way too tight). the front pocket can be changed (for a cost); usually around $450 CAD. i've turned down made in the us palm springs for this very reason.

Thank you! This is super helpful!
I think you've made the right call…

Good morning everyone from a very foggy Scotland :flowers:

After many years of debating about the Palm Springs Backpack I have decided to get it for Christmas this year. This thread has provided some wonderful information and inspiration.
Due to a number of factors I won’t be able to purchase it in person. I will be ordering from Harrods and have an SA I can message to arrange the purchase.

I know to look out for alignment, but is there anything else in this current version I should be looking out for both prior to and after purchase?

Thank you in advance for any feedback you may have.

Resurrecting this thread to figure out if this is normal on the PSM/how worried I need to be about worsening.

I just purchased a preloved 2020 Palm Springs mini. It has some wear that I was ok with. I asked the consignment boutique specifically about canvas cracking, and was told no issues, and did not note any when I inspected the bag at purchase.

I went to use the bag today and noticed where the front flap folds over to acces the inside of the bag are very faint white creases. They are barely noticeable but definitely there.

Is this cracking? Do I need to be worried about progression?

I am very happy with my purchase and if this is common/doesn’t usually progress I will happily keep the bag. I am worried that this will become more noticeable render the bag unusable it he future.

I would be so grateful for input from the veteran PSM owners :)

Hi!

Not sure if it is canvas cracking but I have the same "issue". Mine is from 2018 (older version) and purchased in 2018. The streaks seem to have appeared back in 2020 itself but I only noticed them in 2023. I don't necessarily care, since it doesn't hamper the functionality and it hasn't gotten worse. I love the bag and enjoy wearing as a backpack.

P.S - It doesn't look this prominent in real life but the camera captures it well in a certain angle with bright light.

Hi all,

I recently purchased a pre-owned PSM from BBOS and immediately noticed that the bag doesn't have a date code or a "Made in" tag. Is this normal? My last LV purchase was in 2018, and I haven’t kept up with the updates or changes made to these bags since then. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

date tags were phased out a few years back. if it just tags louis vuitton paris on the leather tab inside then it was made in the usa.
