I think both pinkiwhatever99 and charleston-mom have good points

and I agree 99% with both of you lol.
It's true that if you rip off the made in _____ label, you or anyone else will not be able to differentiate between 2 LV bags made from 2 diff countries. However, I also support pinki cuz buying LV to start with IS A PERSONAL CHOICE. We coulda bought from
gucci and chanel, but we choose LV, so it seems logical for me that some people also have different preferences for their made in ______ label.
I really don't think that this preference is by any means trying to descriminate against another country. Like in my first post, I said that if you've
always preferred LV bags to be made in France, then it's perfectly acceptable. Prejudice, descrimination, and racism only start if you usually
don't care where LVs are made, then all of a sudden at the sight of made in India, you become inconsistent with your thoughts, bash this country, and become selective in the country of fabrication.
CEV.LV4eva - Thanks for that insight you provided in your post. I have to wonder though, if word got around that LV is made in India, would the mainland Chinese people like those you referred to be as quick to shun the brand as quickly as they embraced it?
Ummm... I would say no right now because these youngsters whom I hang out with are only interested in the big price factor. As long as their purchase on the front says LOUIS VUITTON, CHANEL, GUCCI, HERMES...etc then all's fine, cuz most of them are......."uneducated" (and I hate saying this), don't know much of English so can't really read where things are made (except for "made in China" products that they run away from lol) and most importantly, they
DON"T CARE about the details.
I find their psychology is like this: "I'm rich so I can do/buy whatever I want". When we go out shopping (actually I don't shop, I observe them lol), all I see is that they POINT to an item on display, examine it for 1 min or so, no picking, nod (meaning I'll take it) and point to a few more things lol. I was actually talking with my SA here in Montreal, Canada and she noticed the SAME THING! lol From my point of view, there's rarely any verbal interaction because in China, SAs are considered to be a pretty low job... and being the all high and mighty rich customers, they tend to look down at them. So in retrospect, I kinda understand why some SAs appear to be 'snobby' and unfriendly, it's cuz that's the usual treatment they get from some customers and I'm told that they don't talk much because some customers find it annoying.....
I would prefer not to be quoted, or have people here on this forum think that every Chinese person behaves in this manner because I'm only basing 'my facts' on 5-10 youngsters which is NOT A REPRESENTATIVE sample of the population.
