Oh dear I had to catch up with all the pages and was wondering why the stalking thread was so quite haha, this thread is a great idea though!

Since yesterday was a huge mini pa party, I kinda consider getting one myself now too. Would you say it makes sense even though I’ll own the mpa? I know the small part of the mpa is still bigger than the mini pa too

Oh yes... I have two now (hopefully own the trifecta one day) and I carry one everyday ! Best SLG next to the key pouch or key holder

Not sure if you misinterpreted my message or you are agreeing with me? I literally said in my post that I found chanel to be crazily priced and was totally not worth the $ :confused1::lol: So of course you are not alone
Nope, not misinterpreted! But I was remarking that IMO all designer are pricing too much for their items, not just Chanel.
Dior, Gucci, BV...quality might be there but the retail price has become ridiculous in the last years.
I wish I was that wise at your age! I bought a lot of cheap clothes but replaced them all for better quality items, not regretted once. And better quality doesn’t always come pricier too.

Hi!
Funny how everything seems to pass through Germany  Hi there! I have planned a vacation to Scotland this summer and really hope I can come AND bring my LV out with me
Hopefully it doesn't have to be cancelled .... :hrmm:
I hope you can make it to Scotland! It’s so beautiful, only a poet could find the words to describe.. it was one of my dream destinations and some years ago, I had the opportunity to visit and combine it with my cousin’s wedding!

What prices would you want them to be? I don’t think we can compare 1:1 the prices they used to be versus the prices now. With inflation and people getting wealthier in average, more can afford luxury. The minimum wage in Denmark has gone up by 30% in the last 10 years. It’s also about supply and demand. We still buy their items despite several price increases. If the mini Pochette had the same price as it used to years ago, it would have the same price tag as a conscious collection shirt from H&M. And if Chanel classic flaps had the same price now as it had 10 years ago it would be priced the same as an onthego in empreinte. I understand the quality doesn’t match up with the price, but the expensive price tag is made so the brands doesn’t become one of the masses. And then one can choose to buy into the craziness or not

That is a really good way to look at it!

Not saying that a Neverfull has to have the same price as when it was released, or a Chanel flap has to cost 1200 €, but a 100% price increase in about 13 years seems a bit too much IMO. And no, my salary hasn’t increased 100% in the same timeframe, while the bag has almost remained the same, some would even say the quality has gone down (I have no proof to say that).
But nevermind, I don’t want to argue with anyone on a sunny Sunday morning, wear your bags in good health!

I hear what you're saying and brands do have to increase their prices every now and then to match the economy, but if their products never evolve or improve there's gonna be a limit to what the consumers are gonna accept. E.g. in the past 10 years the Chanel Jumbo Caviar has had an increase of 139% (not including the increase that's happening tomorrow) :wtf: If minimum wages generally has increased 30% and the bags 139% that doesn't follow a similar curve, especially when you think about the fact that there has been no improvement in product quality and that the items were already seen as expensive back then. Designer items matched the quality so the price made sense, which is why people are getting fed up now that the quality has even gotten worse. Increases now are simply about brands wanting to get even more exclusive and to refine their consumer base, not to follow salary rates. They pump out so many products that they can't keep up with the quality yet they want us to pay more? I can't justify Chanel or LVs prices anymore, their quality isn't good enough and I can no longer say that they're good investments
That said, I wish my salary had an annual increase like Chanel, damn :crybaby:
