Hi loves!
I need help on a decision. So I have a speedy 30 in DE in perfect condition. I got it 10 years ago as a birthday present from my parents. Never wore it much because it’s too big for me. But I listed it on Vestiaire and someone bought it however I am not sure if I want to go through with it. I will get around 525 euros after the commission is taken. But I’m thinking of keeping it because the quality was so much better 10 years ago and you can’t find a bag like this anymore from LV. What do you guys think? I’m kinda torn because I don’t wear it at all but also even if I sell it It’s not like I’ll get that much money for it. What do you girls think?
Keep it unless you’re desperate for the money. It’ll be a vintage piece now.

If the Lady Dior has been on your radar for a while then go for it.
In my experience when I fall in love with a bag but then settle for something else it’s never a good idea, somehow I go back to the bag I originally liked and in many cases it has increased in price, so it’s a waste of money for buying other bags AND the original one but for more money.
I absolutely second this. I feel exactly the same way!

This would scald me as I love preloved items and have bought from VC but I would keep it. That's amazing quality and you will likely miss it when it is gone.

Darling try selling it on the nl site designervintage you only pay like 37 euros for the add! Vestiare takes all your money!

Am I the only one that finds pricing for designer items insanely expensive?
A Neverfull MM is now 1.200 € if I’m not wrong, that’s quite a lot for a basic bag.
And don’t get me started on shoes and clothes, thank God shoes do go on sale or hit the outlets, and living near the Sergio Rossi factory is a great advantage for me (not for my wallet).
I’ve always gone the preowned route with bags, I’m now making great deals on clothes also, some were barely worn.
The MonMono Speedy will probably be my only bag purchased directly from a boutique.
Not sure if you misinterpreted my message or you are agreeing with me? I literally said in my post that I found chanel to be crazily priced and was totally not worth the $ :confused1::lol: So of course you are not alone

I bought my vintage chanel for 1600 euro which is just a little bit more than the pochette metis after price increases. And the mini was 3000 euro which is approx 2x pochette metis. And while the metis might be less prone to scratches and you might get more bag for your money it all comes down to how you prioritize your money and what you prefer. I'm "quite young" (26), and while I love luxury items my style also has been changing a lot and I keep that in mind when buying a bag. I figured in my teenage years that if I save my money and quit buying numerous of high street clothes or bags I could save up and get one luxury item. And since then I've been buying, using, loving, falling out of love and selling. I've yet to lose money on either Chanel or LV. So I'd rather save up and pay the higher price for quality luxury items I can sell on later than buying 20 x H&M bags I'd be stuck with. But by no means are the Chanel worth the price objectively, they are hella expensive!! :panic:

It really does! I think a lot of people have this in mind when paying so much for LV, Chanel or Hermes. Bags can sometimes be small investments. If we all have bought a Neverfull 10 years ago we wouldn't lose a dime on it if we tried to sell it now :coolio: And meanwhile in all those 10 years we had a gorgeous bag we could use to death  That's the beauty of buying classics sometimes.
