I would prefer something practical but if $ is not an issue, order the speedy and the Alma and see which one(s) work for you and return the one(s) that done. Do you have other LV canvas straps to use on these 2 bags which would make it more comfy to carry? But for a mum, the boulogne and the speedy would be more practical. But the OTG is also very beautiful...the price too!!

I absolutely LOVE it! I bought it on a trip to Hawaii last May, and have worn it nearly every day since. I wanted something that I could wear running around but also go from day to night if I had to. I went on a massive Chanel binge the last 5 years, but they’re just not practical in adverse weather and/or when plans change and we end up at the park with the kids etc. I decided on the black trim instead of the vachetta for this reason also, and the adjustable strap on the Boulogne is a game changer. I’m 170cm tall and the crossbody option is the perfect length if I need to change it from the shoulder option.
The CB Speedy looks beautiful but I would be scared to wear it every day because the CB print might wear down, and that would absolutely devastate me. That’s why I decided on the bag charm for this collection 🌸🩷
That being said, I have an original Speedy in the cerises print that I have looked after for the past 17 years, and it’s one of my all time favourite bags but more of a showcase item. You have to buy what you love, but I’ve used the Boulogne much more in the last 10 months than the Speedy cerises in the last 17 years.
I’m the US-based interloper who is buying on the Australia site to ship to my in-laws so returning is not really an option 😅 I did see that the OTG was available for quite a while and it’s gorgeous but the open top isn’t ideal, and it’s $$$ comparatively. My Boulogne actually already shipped, so I own one now! Part of my doubt is probably because I haven’t seen the CB Boulogne IRL, but I’m drooling over real life photos of the Speedy and Alma.
I have to say I love shopping the AU site since the experience is comparatively way more chill than the US. I actually also tried to buy CB on the US side and that was a bust - could add to cart, but didn’t manage to check out.
Having said this, anyone know what time this restock is happening tomorrow for CB and/or MC? I stayed up until 2am last Thursday to shop the Aussie drop, and I’m wondering if it’s going to be another late night tomorrow 🥹 Still worth it though to get the goods!
Ah thank you! I’m feeling much happier about my choices now. With this drop the products weren’t uploaded onto the site until right before and I’ve been getting crushed at work, so I didn’t have much time to think through what I wanted. I knew the Boulogne would be less competitive and it seemed like the online reviews were good, and it sounds like it was a good purchase 😄 I’m actually ~175cm, so glad to hear it works well for you.
I actually also have a Speedy but from 2010 in the mini lin - pretty sure it was the first Speedy with the crossbody strap before the Speedy bandouliere was even a product. I did use it a lot for a few years, but that had an adjustable strap with a much longer strap drop. Certainly has a special place in my heart since it was my first major designer bag paid for with my first big girl job!

Haha yes - but it is not without its downsides, as the only reason I’m able to pull this off is because these drops have been fortuitously timed around visits. My in-laws came in Jan with my Superflat Speedy 20, and my husband is going back in May for my MIL’s birthday. So super interesting thing on pricing - the MC stuff was relatively a LOT cheaper in AUD vs USD, but not the CB. For example, the MC Speedy 25 is a $700 USD savings to purchase in AUD ($3200 + tax USD, $4800 AUD) but the CB Speedy 25 is only a $200 USD savings ($2770 + tax USD, $4500 AUD) and only because I’m in CA with high sales tax. The non-taxed price is actually more expensive in AUD vs. USD for CB. Exchange rates didn’t move much so curious how they priced so differently. I had thought this may have been why the CB OTG was available for so long - it’s especially expensive relatively in AUD at > $5k. I didn’t even see a whisper of that bag on the US side since it went so fast, but $3550 USD is more palatable for an American in local currency vs. $5400 AUD for an Aussie in local currency.

When I ordered it, it indicated 2-4 weeks. I deliberately did not order those with longer waiting times but there you go! This had put me off of ordering anything from CB although I might still bite the bullet if the fluffy charm becomes available. The CB comfort sandals are also tempting but I don’t know for sure which size to get and we have no boutique to try these on in ADL and I hate returning

So interesting! I'm really glad you've mentioned this. Cos it's so true, the OTG limited editions here are just crazy prices in our currency. A lot of Aussies travel, so we are used to travel hacking purchases.
