It is unfortunate, but you do have to pay customs tax! I would contact LV and see how you may be able to order online, maybe through vuitton.com??

there is another thread forum similar to your question,
so here go copy and paste my answered to your question

here is Australian Government website the information regarding the custom

main listing
http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=4267

when buying over the internet
http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=5549

actually I haven't buy stuff over $1000 over internet but I did research first which is pro and con

so I better stick my gun to buy local Boutique always for purchasing over $1000

can you really lie and they send i through? if so that would be awesome, even from the louis website in pounds its WAY cheaper than in dollars!!!

You mean understate the value of the item? It would be up to the seller to fill in a lower value on the customs declaration when they post it (and to alter any invoices/receipts etc). You wouldn't expect a business to do that, but with eBay, the sellers all have their own policy about that sort of thing. I've seen some eBay sellers say in the body of their listing "do not ask me to mark the item as a gift or understate the value for customs as I won't do it." I've also had sellers actually offer to send an item marked "gift" without me even asking them -- I think because they're under the impression Australians have to pay tax on anything we import into the country, which isn't true, it's only payable on items over AU$1K.

But anyway, that's just eBay. I can't imagine a concern like LV doing anything like that.

Just wondering if any LV store sells online in Australia?
I can't seem to find any so I am guessing no, if not, I wonder why not as I know you can in the US via eluxury.
I am not that close to any LV store and I don't have a car at present either, online would just be easier for me.
Also those of you from Melb/Australia, can you tell me where you bought your LV's from, I am thinking of buying mine through Crown Casino?
Thanks!

Hi LVGirl, no official LV affiliated company sells online to Australia; however there are sites such as such as www.let-trade.com that deliver to Australia (but usually they are used LVs).

If you're buying from a Melbourne boutique, I would recommend the store on Collins Street as it has a bigger range than Crown Casino, including shoes.

Hope this helps!

Definitely agree with going to the LV on Collins Street. The SAs there seem to be more outgoing than the ones at Crown Casino. They were nice enough to do same day heat stamp service for me. But, if you can make it to Sydney the LV on Castlereagh Street is supreme.

Hi everyone,

I just tried calling the Brisbane LV Store to ask about an item, and found the business card my SA had given me has no phone numer, just the 1300 number. I called that number and asked for the Brissy store number and he said *strong French accent* that the stores have no direct lines now.

I explained to him then what I wanted to do, which is to get a luggage tag heatstamped and to pick it up when I'm in town in 2 weeks, as I live 850kms away. I was prepared to pay for it over the phone too. He didn't seem to understand me (and was hard to understand himself), and said that they don't courier such small items. I explained again that I would pick it up and he said that the items take 5-7 days to get heatstamped. So I checked again that I could get this done and collect when in town, and he said no, I have to go in there and ask for it to be done, and they'd call when it was ready! AAARRRGHGHH!!! :cursing:

Now I'm sure I've heard of other people organising such services as charge-send, so surely ordering over the phone is no issue, and surely too they have a direct line for customers to use. Am I going nuts here? Is this a new change, and how else can I find the store's phone number? I've tried louisvuitton.com and looked up the Brissy store but no phone number, only a fax number. Maybe I'll just fax them to ask what I want!!! How can this be so hard??!

P.S. - Anyone out there got LV Brissy's number? TFFC? :confused1:
