I don't have a LV store in my state. Can I request that my bag be Made in France if i purchase online? I want to get the Artsy MM and would prefer it to be made in France.

Unfortunately - no - there isn't anyway to do that. When you purchase online - it's just being processed and going through a very large warehouse. When you purchase online in the US, virtually all the bags from there are made in the US, so I don't think you'd have much luck. I had to cultivate a really close relationship with an SA in order to be able to get MIF bags, and even then, I'm not always successful. After waiting 6 months trying to get a MIF Artsy MM, I gave up - and bought one made in the USA. It's beautiful though, but it was disappointing a little. I would have preferred MIF. However, I checked mine really carefully and I do love it. I simply couldn't wait any longer. My SA recently bought an Artsy too - and believe it or not, she couldn't find a MIF Artsy either (and she prefers MIF). It's a VERY popular bag.

I have been able to find MIF for every other bag I have, just not the Artsy, and I really tried.

Thank you so much for your response. The closes LV store to me is in Vegas, maybe I'll take a trip out there and try my luck.

Hi Ladies,
My husband just gave me my first LV for my birthday which was 10/13. He gave me a MM delightful and an insolite wallet. The MM delightful was a bit too big for me so I exchanged it for a montorgueil GM it is MIF the wallet was MI Spain. So here is my question if some of you LV expert ladies would help me out; The LVs on my wallet are camel and not super bold. The LVs on my montorgueil are a different color. They look more green and stand out much more from the bag. Will the color of the LVs on the canvas of my bag eventually fade and look more like the wallet? Or should I go back to the store and try to find one that matches better? I know this probably seems really nit picky but I want to be sure that I will wear these items often and enjoy since they were so expensive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All own is Louis Vuitton and everything is sturdy. Dot get my wrong but on my monogram, the handle did fall apart and i had to get it fixed at a leather retailer place but besides that i believe that lv are the best purses made..Its only my opinion

I have been buying LVs for 11 years and I own Mono, Epi, Mat, Vernis, Damier, Suhali, Multicolor and limited editions. I have Epi bags from 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2008. I see that their quality is about the same, until I purchased a 15 year old near mint Epi bag 2 weeks ago. I compared the quality and I think the 15 year old Epi is better made then all my other Epis.

I was about to make a post about Lv quality and came to see this, hah! I went to the store yesterday and got the Verona Pm in Damier as an Xmas gift for myself. I love the style but somehow disappointed with the straps' quality. I think its kinda hard and "cheap", no offend but I expected with that $$$, they should've made it lighter and softer. It hurt my arm after carrying it on for a few mins. I eventually purchased it 'cuz couldn't resist the bag's beautiful style...but now reluctantly deciding whether I should keep it. Anyone feel the same way as me? or is it just me being too picky

I got my first Louis Vuitton at Valentines Day, a Mono Speedy 30, I TOTALLY LOVE IT ! I also ending up buying a small zippy wallet, Key holder, luggage tag & Charm to hang on my bag. I wanted a Speedy for like 2 years and usually purchased Coach bags, which I purchased about 1 a month, and always ended up hating them, so they were sold or returned. But this Speedy, I cannot even tell you how great the quality is, fantastic. I also ended up purchasing the Hippy-Gal shaper, love the pockets and I do like the boxy shape of the look of luggage too and the shaper helps with that also. This is the first time that I haven't fell out of love with a handbag, personally this is the best handbag I have ever purchased and I'm alot older sooo, you can imagine all the handbags I've been through ;) I use my bag everyday, I'm not much of a wasteful person, so I do only have one handbag, and I LOVE IT, which is rare for me, my husband is surprised that I haven't sold it by now, but I plan on using this bag for years. I am in love ;) So go ahead and get your new handbag, I know you'll be happy and probably never wanna put it down ;) But be careful cuz your gonna want some accessories too ;) Oh, also I purchased all of my items online at the Louis Vuitton website, fantastic customer service, as I called it seems a million times with questions before and after my purchases.

i want my bags to last for years too, i am sick of buying crap bags even $200 dollars one (part of maturing i guess)and my lv mono 35- i can feel and smell the quality and i love it so much. i still think lv will stand the test of time:)

comparing items bought in 2003 and 2011, i can notice a difference

the quality isnt really down (ie the items will still last and wear well) it is the finishing touches that seem to me to have changed. decreased attn to detail in terms of stitching and things like that.

I'm not sure who told you that, but it isn't true. Plenty of mono speedies made in France and they are still made there daily. You have to have a good SA snd be patient if you are buying in the US and want a MIF speedy, but it can be done. If you live in Canada, Europe, or any other country than the US, your speedy will likely be made in France. Mon Mono bags are made in France generally. So, I'm not sure who gave you that info, but it was wrong. Sometimes SAs will tell US customers that the only speedies sold in the US were the ones made here, but it's simply because they are too lazy to find you a MIF bag. I guarantee you, if you go to France to buy your speedy, it's not made in the US.

I will say though that per my SA, there is a difference in quality between the two. I wait for MIF bags. I only buy made in the US if I literally can't get MIF for some reason. They do not pay the CA workers very well here in the US, and the heritage and loyalty is not there for the workers, hence the quality issues are higher percentage wise. The mono zippy I recently returned perled in less than a month. It was made in the US and I didn't notice it when I bought it. Never again. Now I check and wait.

But speedies are definitely still made daily in France.

I am SO glad I came across your post on this! I was wondering how I could get a MIF bag. Sounds like you really know your stuff! How would you advise me to get a MIF speedy? I was going to call the 1 800 Vuitton number and see if they could find me a speedy 35 that was MIF, but I'm not sure if I would sound totally ridiculous asking :shame: Or should I just go to the boutique near me and request one? I would really appreciate it if you could let me know... TIA :flowers:
