Well, you have 30 days to return right? I think unless it fits right, you’ll always struggle with it. Maxi is just really big. I originally tried the men’s discovery bumbag in black and thought it still too manly and slightly too big. I ended up getting a secondhand empriente women’s black bumbag and was so much happier. Your bag should tick all the boxes.
I have already contacted my CA and he was wonderful about it. He said "well, we gave it a try didn't we?" I think he knew right away when I asked for dimensions and told him I had no idea it was that large. I agree with you 100%, it has to tick all the boxes and it didn't. I knew it would end up being "art" for me and at the prices of these bags that's not acceptable! Thank you for reaching out! ;)

Seeing all your fabulous photos, I had to go into the store to take a look at the pieces they have!
The pieces really look way better in real life than on the photos!

The dots pieces are really cute, though I prefer the black, silver and white dots pieces from the men‘s collection! So beautiful and toned down, but still playful!

What I was really surprised by was the infinity dot pieces! Especially the leather pieces are gorgeous…! The empreinte pieces were my favourite (so I had to snatch a clès for myself)! The epi leather pieces are also much more stunning in person, they had all three Almas next to each other. So so cute! And I also took a look at the notebook cover! I live the toadstool look! Does anybody have that.
The very lovely SA reserved it for me so I can sleep a day whether to take it, too. I love that it is a cover, just not sure if I really need it. Ok, probably I need nothing new anyway. But it is a great statement piece! What would you do?

I really don’t like how many multicolored painted dot pieces there are. I think from an homage perspective, it’s worth making some pieces. But I think it also takes away the “specialness” of the original. Some things should be kept as they are, not copied for a quick buck, I think.

My art and design opinion, I just don’t think the painted dots look good on most of the pieces. The original trunk has better harmony and balance. The original trunk doesn’t have equally spaced dots, allowing for better visual interest and movement. The painted dots for this collection are evenly spaced, lending to a more rigid look and feel. I’m not getting the same resolution, as I do with the original trunk. The number of dots per piece tends to be lacking too. Kusama’s work has a good sense of repetition, rhythm, and scale. She tends to adjust the size and number of dots, relative to a piece. The scale and number of dots work for the original. Many of these Painted Dots pieces look like they’re starving for more. The majority of them just look unfinished to me.

Infinity dot pieces are 10x better, I think, because you have a lot of dots in two different sizes (bigger and smaller lol). Infinity dots has better movement, balance, and rhythm. Whoever okayed the pattern for Infinity Dots, good job.

Psychedelic Flowers is beautifully interesting, but I can see why it isn’t the main focus. Asymmetrical and organic designs tend to be favored in the East. Western design tends to favor symmetry and geometrical compositions. Most mainstream/well-known fine art and design works follow Western aesthetics. It makes sense that a Western brand will favor Western aesthetic choices as ”the safer and more commercially-appropriate option.” Because of history, a lot of Westerners see exoticism and eclectic in non-Western art and design, and it’s not always in a positive way.

Dots are just “safer.“
Interesting POV. I never preferred the infinity dots. I am a westerner and what you would call more “commercial” so these bold dots work for me. However, I definitely prefer them on smaller pieces. A little bit goes a long way for me.

Hi, I'm considering getting a keepall 25 from Yayoi collection but wonder how LV coated black hardware hold up? Does anyone have experience to share?
I’m pretty lucky to live in a city with a lot of secondhand/resale stores. Have seen many coated black hardware pieces where the coating is chipping off. I always buy new, but look to secondhand to get an idea of “wear and tear,” if the piece I like has been around. I no longer want a soft trunk, because I’ve seen too many with worn out hardware. I would have wanted to use the soft trunk as an everyday bag, and lost a lot of confidence in it’s potential durability.

I have a bag where the coated black hardware is still in perfect condition, but I use it 2-3x a year max. It’s a limited piece, hence my extremely occasional use. It really depends on you, your usage, and what you want to get out of the bag, if the hardware will remain “good” for years to come. If you want to use the bag everyday, maybe reconsider. If you plan to use it a few times a year for the “right” outfit/occasion, go for it.

It depends on what you like more. There are some great pieces in wave 2, there are also a lot great pieces in the first wave. Problem is, if you miss out wave 1 now, you probably won’t be able to get those wave 1 pieces when wave 2 drops. Only those leftovers until then.

You can DM me, then I can show you the pieces I have for wave 2. it’s not a full list but you will get an idea, if you like wave 1 or wave 2 s so
I’m not sure I want potato heads on my bag but we shall see. If you are willing to share some pics, I’ll send you message. thanks!!

I’m Asian American, and most of my aesthetics fall on the “Asian” side. Though I do appreciate that Western art tends to favor art innovation. I like that the Painted Dots are raised on the canvas, so you get a different texture. Curious to know what materials and processes they used, because the approaches I can think of are prone to cracking and flaking, especially on flexible materials. I would like to think LV spent a good amount of time and money on r&d, or else they’ll have many unhappy customers in the future.
