As he went to sign the historic Proclamation, the King frantically motioned to an aide to move the pen's box from his desk
Ooh, they've released more footage from Truss meeting CIII and look who is there...
King meets PM escorted by Major Johnny
P.S. And to whoever said he's married, well so am I but quoting someone whose name escapes me "I may be married but I'm not dead"... ☺️ (Don't tell my husband who wants to think I only have eyes for him... )
Being on a diet doesn’t mean you cannot look at the menu
I imagine everyone is very stressed and exhausted right now. When my father passed away (after a lengthy stay in intensive care), I came home, bawled my eyes out, and then slept for 14 hours. The King and the Royal household don’t have that kind of luxury because they are having to do all this stuff in public whilst also grieving. I can’t imagine how difficult it was for King Charles to give that speech yesterday.
Also I don’t think he was angry with Major Johnny - it looked more like he just wanted SOMEONE to deal with it and MJT jumped in. This is all new to all of them (and the first time this ceremony has ever been televised). Charles was three years old when his mother did this and obviously no one else there has experienced this either.
Edited to add the ITV footage which definitely doesn’t look like the King is angry.
