Hang on - in all due respect KingCharles, this was not the good major’s fault. We are all stressed and nervous.

As he went to sign the historic Proclamation, the King frantically motioned to an aide to move the pen's box from his desk

I will happily stand up for the good Major. This was not his fault in any way. Whoever put the table there messed up. But, this is a one-off experience and tensions are high. Everyone has suffered an enormous loss. Let’s not look for perfect. This was a powerful ceremony and stand out as flawlessly performed. In fact, they look all the more royal in how gracefully they handled this.

It most definitely was not the fault of our Major! And it certainly wasn't the only blunder during the proceedings. How about this member of the clergy (who is he, I don't know?) who deemed it fit to test out the pen right there on the official document...? :amazed: I had to facepalm as he made his scribble live on camera.

Probably stressed, not every day you have to do something like that.

My mother would be  though
