Alas, Major Johnny was off being Prince Charles’s equerry (still not sure what the job involves other than hanging out being hot in the background!) in Rwanda for the Commonwealth Heads of Governmenr meeting, where Prince Charles was representing the Queen.

Good Sunday morning Ladies. I was up early to take care of the pup and once done, I reread this thread from the start for some serious relaxation and found the definition of equerry. Ladies, wouldn't it be lovely if we could order ourselves a Major Jonny clone from maybe 'Amazon' and pretend to be monarchs (not butterflies) and have him do our bidding or just admire his beautiful self.

He could just stand around and look hot in his various uniforms and maybe read the dictionary out loud from time to time and that would be fine! Wouldn’t want to cause my blood pressure to go haywire, you know

Apparently Prince Charles is going to be carrying out more and more of the Queen’s state duties* which means we are likely to see quite a lot of his strikingly handsome equerry in the upcoming months. We are here for it!

*FromThe Telegraph: “As Prince Charles increasingly takes on the “Head of Nation” parts of the role (four-fifths of the named public events, half of the named prize-givings and most of the garden parties, investitures and receptions specified this year), so the country will gradually get used to a new era.”

It seems a bit of hard luck on the Queen’s own equerry (the Royal Marines officer standing next to Major Johnny in the photos from Holyrood Palace) because it seems like a modern equerry’s job is basically handling the diary and escorting the Royal and making sure they are aware of what they need to do when they get there and if the Queen isn’t doing most of these engagements, then he wouldn’t have much to do. I expect it’s probably a fantastic thing to have on your resume for future staff officer positions and so on, and you’d have to be fairly special (not just looks-wise) to get the nod. (Prince William’s equerry is a naval officer with an active LinkedIn page) The Queen’s previous equerry was the Ghanaian-born Lt. Colonel Nana Kofi Twumase-Ankrah who was appointed to the position in 2017, so long before someone from California decided to “modernize” the monarchy.

I have some downtime between projects so I’ve been doing some research on the burning question of whether Major Johnny is married. Thanks to Getty Images and YouTube screen grabs I have resolved that … the situation is unclear.

But it’s gone in Rwanda, in June 2022

This one is just cause I could and that is a lovely smile and does he have a dimple?

In conclusion, either Major Johnny was married in November and isn’t now; or that was not a wedding ring; or he doesn’t always wear his wedding ring. So I am unable to draw any conclusions about his marital status. What I can conclude is that he has shapely, large hands, and we know what they say about THAT.

I appreciate your research. And here I was thinking I was doing a good job by trying to determine whether he spells his name Jonny or Johnny. (At the moment I believe it’s Jonny).

Figuring out his marital status is more difficult. He’s not quite famous enough for that to be public knowledge.

I appreciate your research. And here I was thinking I was doing a good job by trying to determine whether he spells his name Jonny or Johnny. (At the moment I believe it’s Jonny).

Figuring out his marital status is more difficult. He’s not quite famous enough for that to be public knowledge.

His given name is Jonathan (per the Court Circular which details Prince Charles’s trips abroad etc. so either spelling makes sense?)
And my research was purely for scientific purposes (which were in absolutely no way a flimsy excuse to look at many many pictures of this beautiful man! For science, I tell you! For science!)
