Hi All, no intention to hijack this thread BUT have an important question regarding CDC gator maintenance.

Seems like yesterday that I bought my first CDC in ombre lizzie PHW and now my CDC collection has grown to 34 CDCs, mostly gator.

Here is my question, they are finally cataloged and in a spreadsheet and I went to clean & condition each gator CDC with Reptian and Saphir - the names might not be correct - but the high-end products recommended on this site by experts.

After using them on a lisse gator CDC for at least 10-mins they appeared dull and then finally the shine lisse returned after 10-20 mins and some elbow grease.

Thanks, any suggestions or experience will be welcome advice.

Any suggestions or experience with long-term maintenance of gator CDCs?

Hello ladies! I’m considering my first leather bracelet and think it has to be cdc 24. Therefore I have some questions and will be very grateful for the help.
I want it to match three bags that I wear currently now: it’s mushroom mini bolide evercolor with gold hardware, rouge de cour epsom kelly with champagne (perambrass) and vert cypres picotin with palladium hardware.
I decided to go with Nata but hesitating about leather type: epsom or swift as I feel like swift will look more warmer and i need it to match my mushroom bag which is cooler undertone. So have anyone spotted difference between Nata in epsom or Nata in swift, is there really a difference?
I’m also curious what is easier to maintain in good condition on a hand. As I have bag in swift as well I like look of swift more but I feel like epsom is easier to maintain especially on the hand. What do you think?

Second confusion is about hardware. In general from my 8 bags I have only mini bolide with gold hardware (which is so small that you can not really see it) and SO Kelly with champagne (which is really lighter than regular one). All my other bags are in palladium not by chance but because I feel like gold Hermes hardware is not for me. I feel that it is more red than from other bags. At the same time I wear yellow gold watch and my alambra carnelian are also in yellow gold. I also know that rose gold tarnishes. So I feel like on the one hand i like rose gold hardware more (at least on website) but on the other hand it will not match neither bags or my current jewelry. Same time yellow gold can irritates me as it is just too bright for me and as still it is more darker that my Cartier watch and hardware on all my bags are rather invisible Or also not yellow gold does it really make a difference will it be yellow or gold platted?

It would be much easier to go and try in store but they are always out of stock and even though I have good relationship with SA he always forgets to tell me when small (read not expensive) come back in stock.
I will appreciate your time to read this all and share your suggestions and pictures if somebody has for both gold and pink hardware.

Hi everyone! For those avid CDC fans who started collecting years ago, are you still wearing and enjoying your CDC collections? I am wondering if the wide version still feels fashionable or if you think this version looks a bit dated now. I had taken a break from my CDC's for a few years, but suddenly find myself interested in them again! Would love to hear what others think as far as dated versus still fashionable :)

I never stopped wearing the OG CDC and medor belts. And, I am contemplating pulling out my bracelets too. This is a classic design (from the 1920s? 1960? I don’t remember) so it has really survived the test of time.

JMHO but I think the wide CDC is better-looking than the 24. I wear mine still, although not every day. Funny to remember a time when they were nearly impossible to get - people used to post when one showed up in a store anywhere, and they were never available online!
Def don't think it's dated as it's a very old design from the 40s, based on H dog collars from more than 100 years ago.......

I have an orange alligator PHW CDC from an H sale that I wear a few times a month. I love it and I get a compliment from acquaintances or strangers EVERY time I wear it. To me, it is a classic statement piece and if they weren't so damn expensive or hard to get in rich colors (I feel like all I ever see is neutrals or pinks, but gimme green/red/purple!), I would buy all different colors. :lol:

As wearable today as when they were first introduced. I favor the wider version as it makes
a statement especially in a wonderful color or any color for that matter
Now that the weather is changing here, CDC's will look great with a classic white shirt as well as
a classic white tee with white jeans on a summer day or any outfit, JMO

Hi everyone! I've always loved the CDC but never pulled the trigger because I always thought it looked too huge on me. But when I found this preloved all-leather version, I knew I had to get it! It was in GREAT condition and I am IN LOVE. :heart: :love: :blush:

Does anyone have any info about this version? Was it a seasonal piece? Or is it something that's always in Hermes' product catalog? I don't see them that often and I'm no CDC expert by any means so I'm curious. Would love to learn more about this version of the CDC. Thanks for sharing!

This is the Shadow CDC (a la the Shadow Birkin). A Gaultier design, I believe. They were made on and off for quite a while even after JPG left. Shadow items are still made, like the clutch, and there's a "shadow CDC" closure on one of the new bag models, so, they may come back in the CDC bracelet!
