I have both and they are very different. I find Ombre to be much more versatile and I just love staring at the ring patterns =)
Amethyst croc is a deep beautiful jewel tone. I guess it just depends what you're looking for....

I've owned both of these CDC's for years. I would go with the amethyst croc because it will age better. My ombre CDC has yellowed with age. It is still beautiful and I love it but this gradual, noticeable color change is why I no longer buy ombre lizard. My amethyst gator CDC still looks showroom new.

Thank you! Very good info! I am leaving towards amethyst as I already have one in gris asphalt. GA is not as awesome as ombré lizard, but serves a similar purpose for me color wise. Maybe both will be in my future at some point.

I have both and would say get both but my ombré lizard hasn’t yellowed yet. Plus you have a Gris asphalte cdc which would be more similar so amethyst if you can only get one.

I agree with IF....Ombre is all-purposeful for me...it works for so many different colors and occasions....
