Love bracelet with 4 diamonds

I am going to throw a curve ball here! I have been trying to decide on a 3rd Love. I have a plain pink Love, and a pink rainbow Love (both original size- sorry, I do not like the "small" versions of the Love). When I finally had the chance to visit a boutique, I tried on the 4 diamond pink Love...and thought, hmmm...pretty...and I had originally said "no diamonds" ! I thought I had made my decision...
then as we proceeded, my SA brought up a 10 diamond pink Love...and I tried it on thinking "nope, not for me"...
and then- bam! decision made! the 10 diamond is the ONE :) so...moral of the story, choose what makes you excited and what you most LOVE!!! I think when you try the right one on, you will know. the price of the 10 diamond, over the 4 diamond, over a plain Love is ridiculous- there is no "good buy decision" to be made. Just what sings to you. It is a 24/7 piece and a lifelong piece- so take the plunge and enjoy your bracelet!

IMHO, the 4 diamond lb doesn't make much of an impact over the plain version. However I love all my pieces with a dash of sparkle, so granted I don't think the price is justifiable, I knew I would regret the purchase if I went with the plain. I don’t have any regrets paying the premium.

The 4 diamonds are expensive, but I knew I wouldn't be happy with a plain love, so I'm happy I got diamonds. I love seeing them sparkle! They are kind of subtle, which I like. I didn't want a "diamond bracelet" like a tennis bracelet; I wanted a bracelet with some sparkle.

If the cost was the same for plain and 4 diamond, which would you pick? That's your answer. All of these items cost a lot more than the raw materials + labor, so none of them are inherently "worth" what we're paying. What do you love more? Then figure out how to fit the cost into your budget.

This is a perfect way of looking at it.

I no longer have my JUC (want a different size), but if I had to pick just one with diamonds I would definitely pick the JUC with diamonds and a plain love. The diamonds on the JUC are so much more striking. I will be replacing mine soon.

for those who have both love with diamond and JUC with diamond, if you had to pick 1 with diamonds, which one would you pick?

Yeah, the diamonds on the JUC are more dominant. Some advice here when getting diamonds always on WG where they really shine and sparkle. Not so much in RG or YG.

I think this has more to do with perception because the diamond range quality is the same in these items when they are under a certain carat weight as I was told by the Cartier SA, and this makes sense as they will select a certain color range, clarity, etc that is acceptable by Cartier standards and keep it relatively uniform for each piece.

I have the RG 4 diamond and the diamonds sparkle. Also, as a general rule and from my reading, even if a lower quality diamond is set in YG/RG, these color of golds will actually help the diamond appear whiter than in a WG/Platinum setting since imperfections of the diamond are more likely to show against WG/Platinum.

To the naked eye, all the diamonds I have purchased at Cartier seem to sparkle in my opinion.

Have to disagree here. Selection of the diamonds is an area where Cartier *does not shine* so to speak. In fact Cartier is waaaaay subpar. They need to address this if they want to avoid fallouts in teh future.

First, they do not care about certifiation under a specific size - cannot recall where that is but it applies to all JUCs, Loves and Panthères.

Second - and this is subjective - sparkling of Cartier diamonds is lower than on other jewelers. There are some movies from professionals on the internet.

Third, they don't care about fluorescence. This might be okay if they assemble them in a special pattern, maybe like strips on a Pavé but no, they are just randomly placed. Looks awful especially when spending $30.000 or more. Totally unacceptable.

Forth, WG is brighter than RG and YG. I do have both a Panthère pavé in WG and RG. The RG is dull, the WG shines.

You are right it's all about perception. I'd like to perceive that the diamonds are certified, they sparkle as well as non-Cartier diamonds, perceive no fluorescence and see no difference between RG und WG. Looks my perception is not perfect or at least not where Cartier wants me to have it :flowers:

Many jewelers do not certify diamonds under a certain carat weight because they are considered small diamonds so I don't think it's just Cartier. Even my Destinee Eternity Ring does not have a certification because it is essentially small diamonds, but it falls under their standards as to what is acceptable for their diamond quality. As you know, only after a certain carat weight or on more solitaire pieces do they actually provide a diamond certification.

We all know that Cartier is making a huge profit when it comes to these items as well as engagement rings and everything in general! We are buying more for the design and brand. On that note, I was told the Love bracelets with diamond are either F or G with VS1. I'm not sure about the cut quality; however, they still shine/sparkle in my eyes so it is acceptable to me, and I am okay with paying nearly $1000 per diamond at this quality for the extra sparkle and design.

Having said all that, gemologists do like to set bigger and higher quality diamonds, D-F, in WG/Platinum because color is easier to perceive in larger diamonds and YG reflects color, negating the diamond's colorless effect. Perhaps it's this reflection that you prefer when you choose WG over the other color golds as it can make the diamonds appear larger or more sparkly.
