Hey guys! Long time no see... I am going through the whole thread again haha. I just wanted to ask, is there any way to get any items if you are not a VIP? I am a VIP in my country (Czech), but we do not have the release... Could any of you be helpful with any proxy of an item?

As far as I know, No! I'm based in the Middle East and told only the VIC'a are getting access here. I'm on the list but not sure if I will get my item. I'm sure the others on here with more knowledge than me can advise better though and I have no idea of whats going on with LV in Europe.

i guess this news reporter was streaming it live:
i dont know what the store was thinking even offering up the (assuming skate) trunk. maybe they thought no one in line could afford it, and someone called their bluff and they had to retract their offer to sell it lol. just seems odd they went through all that to say we're not selling anything yet actually offered up the trunk. unclear to me if it was actually on display or something they offered as a special order.
the company should really just be consistent and clear instead of the ambiguity and sidestepping. i think ive read statements like wont be released "as originally planned" and wont release on "7/14" leaving open the possibility that they may sell at a later date, or in a different manner from their "original plan." Kim Jones or any official press release or statement from an executive outside of "customer services" has yet to make it official and say sorry, but unfortunately it's not going on sale to US stores. for that houston store to say we're not selling anything supreme yet offer up the trunk to the initial group of five, what? lol. It's just odd how this whole thing is being handled.

you're right it's very odd how it was handled at the Houston LV store. But I think that store is weird sometimes. It sounds like that trunk was already sold to someone and the staff at that store forgot, but then some other staff person remember that it may have already been sold or on hold or some other reason and then they told him that they were no going to sell him that trunk.

I had an item on hold at LV and when I called back to pay for it, some other SA had sold it to another client and the manager at that store located me another item and I paid for it right then on the spot.

under normal circumstances, id believe that to be possible, but not with this release lol. with all the attention can someone really forget something of that magnitude? a $50K piece? you have guys waiting outside for a week, and local media hounding you for information and official statements. if a VIP accounted for that item, it would have been known to everyone, and shouldn't even have been on display for those thirsty campers lol.

The truth is LV totally messed up the release and they don't have the courage to admit it. This should be a great opportunity for LV to introduce their brand to the younger generation but they totally screwed it up and damaged their brand image. I'm just laughing at how LV management randomly decided to change their release method from Supreme style to Hermes style overnight. To be honest, most LV VICs are not the Supreme customer and they don't care about Supreme. LoL.

Wow, reading through all this. Have to say though, I'd rather they reward the long-time, high spending customers than those who are jumping on the bandwagon.

And, as much as this has resulted in bad press, it has resulted in a lot of attention ("love me; hate me. Just don't ignore me.") and those who never bought anything previously are now enticed to become loyal customers to try to reach VIC status.. This is probably more their intent than anything else.

But those customers will not be motivated to reach VIC status anymore because this collab was a one time thing and it was the only thing that LV offered that interests them, IMO :/

I'm really confused because I actually was in the area today picking up something and asked about the release- was told the store opened at 10 with the announcement "WE HAVE NO SUPREME IN STORE, please come in and see for yourself." An hour later my SA somewhere else whom I placed an order with told me corporate has informed them everything Supreme is sold out.

This is fine if my order can't be fulfilled- but then she also mentioned all stock was bought out this AM, all 10 stores are sold out. YET all US stores maintained today that no stock was available in ANY store, and we know no one walked out with anything. So what's going on? I'm upset because corporate is changing their story left and right and treating actual clients like monkeys.

The exclusivity is what interests many, not the collab or brand. LV has had a problem with being seen as ubiquitous.

It's how Fyre sold out because Coachella grew too much. IMO, that was a bigger disaster, yet 80% of responders said they'd take 2 for 1 VIP tickets over refunds when offered, even though the likelihood of an actual festival being held is nominally above zero.

Trust me, I don't get it. But it works somehow.
