I voted Balenciaga because I feel like you get more for your money. I mean between Balenciaga leather and coated canvas there is no hesitation for me! However I do think that some leather ones from LV are gorgeous...

I voted for the LV simply because I can't look at a Balenciaga without seeing thimbles used for sewing!

I will go for LV. especially the Damier canvas. I like my bags always look like new since i pay a fortune for them. the Damier canvas can look like new forever if you take care of them. it's really great quality in every single details.

I consider bags collections, not consumptions. So i would like the value always reserved.

Balenciaga's life is not comparable to LV. one reason is simply because it's leather. leather won't last as long as canvas. period.

I would go for LV...I've had a lot of Balenciaga bags and all of them disappointed me in terms of quality of leather, fading issues, etc. I am even slowly selling off all of them. If you want all leather you can for Mahina, Empreinte, etc....they are pricier but will definitely last waaaaay longer than Balenciaga.

I'm an ex LV. Bought so many over the past few yrs but not owning one now as finally I realised I don't like the logos.
My ex,
I had Tulum- returned and exchanged & top up to Speedy 30 & Totally Mm- both given away eventually
Neverful Ebene- returned & topped up to Madeline epi & sold & sitting in a friend's closet now!
Saumur- hibernating in closet for more than 10ys, finally sold at much lower price- regretted a bit as I discovered this TPF recently only!
Brazza wallet- given away.
2 more items- can't remember the name- given away too.

It's just not my style. Yet to learn my lesson, as I need a handbag but can't find the right one till I discovered Balenciaga on TPF!!
Just feel the leather & after carrying it for a mth, I'm already eyeing the next one & this time, I'm keeping my bags!!.
It's about 'LOVE'

An LV will last longer largely because they are less high maintenance...and it will look "new" for longer as well. These are two of the more "practical" brands in the luxury category in my opinion.

Lv bags are too common, real / fakes. Majority of the shoppers at my plc are carrying Lvs and everyone is just eyeing each other, trying to guess if it's real/ fake. I had 1 real wallet & my friend came back from China with 10 identical fakes which was amazing 'copycat' high grade stuff for her staff. Unless you look very very closely, you'll not be able to differentiate them. Just check online, you know what i mean. For Bal bag, the real B Bag colour & leather texture wl differentiate them.

I'm a Bal Girl. I have other non-Bal bags that I use and they are soft leather also.

I am not a fan of the logos and whenever I see an LV, I do check it out--"is it real? is it fake?" I do have an Epi agenda (got it for an absolute steal) and it is darn sturdy but I wouldn't want an Epi bag because I am a soft slouchy leather person. The Vernis, however, is beautiful and I would love a small Vernis accessory.

LVs seem to last and some are classics (the Speedys) but I see them all the time and that's one thing I can say about my Bals--I have yet to see one being carried where I live and my Bals do get compliments all the time.

As for cost--sheesh--all of these bags cost way too much--when I was a kid I used to cut off my jeans (to have shorts) and use the "leg" portion as my super cool denim bag (after seaming up the bottom, of course). Now I spend the equivalent of a mortage payment--just to carry my stuff, like I did way back when my denim jeans bag was the very coolest thing ever.

So ... imo, it's a matter of personal taste, which one really sings to you?

I vote for Balenciaga. The bags are so cool and the leather is amazing.
I am not a big fan of monogramm bags-in one way they are all looking the same for me.

I have both & love both, but I have more FUN wearing my Bals than my LVs because everywhere you look, everyone is wearing it, real & fake. Most of the time, I wear my LVs only when it rains & travel because I don't worry about ruining it & that's the only reason why I'm keeping my Speedys. For beautiful days, I enjoy my Bals & Chanels.

i own bags from both and prefer my LV"s....the bal city that i own is SO delicate! I just know in a year or 2 it's going to fade and look so awful....but they suck you in with the colors and hardware.....LV's are so low maint....easy to carry...last forever...so LV wins out for me.

I'm more inclined to lead you to Balenciaga but if you are looking for a hardy bag, LV should work. Like some posters said, Bal's leather varies and is pretty high maintenance; it may not be something you would want to throw around or kick it around on the floor. In such cases, I am more confident of LV's canvas though I just couldn't pay that much for canvas.

balenciaga, LV are fab but if its mono its around for a while same with most LV styles i own 4 balenciaga, a part time wth giant gold hardwere in vivid blue a city in seafoam a city in pewter and my weekender in magenta
and its rare that you come across that one! i also own many LV but i see so many ppl with them and not so many with balence!!!
