i always knew there are price increase from louis vuitton, but never knew when they were. (THANK YOU TPFer's for letting us know). i try to purchase my bags when they are newly out before they get contaminated with any price increase. i purchased my mono eva a few years back, probably before it was even popular. it was $500 and with the recent increase its $685. i don't know if i can get over the fact of purchasing the same thing with a higher price the next day. in the area i live tax is 9.75% so all the little things adds up.

Seems like there is constantly rumor of price increases with these designer brands. I just bought a new chanel reissue and GST and there was no increase on bags as rumored in the threads. Oh well, I'm sure there will be eventually.

I really like the azur stresa pm, but $1890!? It is more expensive than some of the other bags that have the nicer interior (imo). I read about the impending increase but I could not budget for it right now after the chanel bags. I can't really justify anyway since I have several bags right now I hardly use even though I like them all. I need to use those instead of buying more.

I'd say just be sure you want a bag and not make quick decision just because of a rumored increase. I did this once and got an azur speedy 30 before an increase, the speedy style wasn't for me and I sold it 3 mos later through consignment after using it less than 5x and only got about $475, I paid at least $700 for it. So I lost a lot more than I saved from beating increase.

I think most all designer bags are ridiculously marked up. My wonderful leather Coach Lindseys are deliciously soft and squooshy. The quality is fab too, never had an issue. But, I still think the $428 for one is too much. Granted, I got mine w PCE at 25%off, but I feel the PCE price is closer to what the bag is really worth.

All desginer bags have big mark ups, and the more famous and desirable the designer, the bigger the mark up. And LV is one of the most desired.

Ugh. That sucks:( this is why I try to tell ladies who say LVs are an investment. They're really not, unless you got the higher end LVs. I tried selling my speedy 30 (through consignment) and seeing what they offered, I decided not to.


Still eyeing the neverfull but not sure. I'm traveling to Greece this summer and Argentina in the fall. So I want a sturdy travel tote! But at that price I'm contemplating buying an MK and using the rest of the money towards a DSLR! Lol oy

Amen honey, you learned a hard lesson that I have been afraid some folks on here may end up learning because I have seen so much last minute decision making based on the price increase. Frankly, I think LV counts on that last minute purchasing frenzy. That may bring them more money, at least initially, than the price increase does.

The price increase of the Neverfulls are crazy in my opinion. I have the MM & just bought a practically new GM off eBay the day before the price increase(my 1st purchase from eBay so I'm a little nervous) and saved about $230. Perhaps you can just wait and purchase yours in Greece, it will be cheaper. I'm thinking of buying the MK jet set tote also to carry to work because I'm going to start a new job in an area where I don't feel comfortable carrying a designer bag.

I've been lurking around ebay too but always lose the damn things -.- lol! But I might take your advice buy one abroad! We'll see... I have the funds to buy it, but like you said, the price is still crazy... I was hurting when I bought the speedy b but it love it haha. I'm content with my little collection so I wouldn't be mad if I never own a neverfull, knowing I can buy something similar and save my money. But hopefully I can find something on ebay or consignment!!! ::fingers crossed::

Same here. I bought my DE Neverfull before a price increase about a year ago, and the new price is just a little too high. I wanted to add an azur Neverfull for the spring, but I guess now I will stalk a pre-loved bag instead.

If you could wait it would be a better price and most likely even made in France if you care about that. I bought 3 bags in Europe last year and saved quite a bit of money so now it's mentally hard for me to purchase bags at the US prices
