I questioned myself for buying the mini pochette in 2020 for $365.00. I definitely wouldn't have purchased it at the current $445.00. I'd rather take that almost $500 and put it toward a bag or wallet rather than a tiny (but cute) SLG. I guess LV saw the aftermarket and what people are willing to pay and figured they wanted in.
I also think that LV severely limiting availability of common items like the key pouch, MPA, PA, etc. has inadvertently had the opposite effect on restricting reseller activity. It has created more demand, thus more profit for the resellers. Just my opinion, of course!

I agree! And to think that Fashionphile will likely keep their prices above LV retail in line with this adjustment... It is a endless cycle. I like to think LV will just price themselves into ridiculousness but we will all keep paying.

i think any time the production of items is restricted it drives up the price. I am curious if there is a price ceiling for those types of items? I suspect not. Because while a MPA or a PA have had huge price increases, they are still some of the cheapest items available and serve as good entry point items. I am like you though, I’m not going to spend that much on those types of items, however, that is because I likely would not get that much use out of them, and I’d rather put that money towards a bag.

I’m glad that I’ve already bought most of what I want from LV. I’m kicking myself for not ordering a mon monogram mini pochette at the end of last year, now that it’s gone up by £50. :amazed:

Also - canvas clés now £175? Just insane. It was like £100 when I bought mine.

Me too! I paid €120 in 2016. Its cute but I don't even use it that much. I've been looking for a PA in DA for years but at the new price I can write that off. Paid €100 for a preloved mono a few years ago which I love so 6 times that now is just too much.

Received my PM this morning. Snagged the day before the price increase thanks to everyone on this thread for the heads up! You guys are the best

Agreed! I am thankful that I have two mini pochettes, both LE and both purchased over ten years ago, thus costing much less for a special limited piece than what they are now asking for the standard ones. I also bought a regular pochette accessoires in DE new from LV, can't remember how much it was at the time but the fact that it is now £565.00 is ridiculous. I honestly think I paid less than half that for it. I have a 20-something year old pre-loved Monogram pochette too  Love it, like yours it was a bargain and it's so well made.

but at least theres sales on Valentino, Prada, ysl, Givenchy even some Gucci and fend etc . I got a rlly cute bag from Valentino for 40 percent off
Yes, you are right. The other brands do discount their merchandise. That’s why I never buy these brands at full price.

However, the fact that these brands do discounts is exactly why their value does not stand the test of time compared to LV, CC and H.

Personally, I think the more modest increases are easier to swallow. A 2-4% increase makes sense and is to be expected from most or any brand. The 20-25% increases are more surprising and I think more difficult to swallow especially when they are placed on the entry type items. Particularly, when the quality doesn’t seem correspond with the price point any longer.

However, I understand why they’d make those moves. I just do wonder for all these luxury brands, if perhaps they will get to a point where they may alienate enough of their customer base that the rapid and significant increases may have the opposite effect to what they believe. I don’t know. I don’t buy LV or premier brand bags for the most part. I stick to SLGs. So perhaps there will always been a thriving customer base despite the prices.
