That's not true. Every price increase the last few years has come with advance notice from an SA or through purseblog or mizhattan etc. And also right now the dollar is very strong in contrast to the euro.

The person I quoted had said that they give notification before an increase - not true at all. And most people are not on TPF or frequent the boutique to get any info from an SA. I was there a few days before the last increase in Canada and the SA said nothing! I just had a relative purchase a bag in advance from Heathrow duty free and I have been checking the website everyday for price increases☹️

Pardon me, but in my personal experience, I have been informed of price increases that have occurred over the last few years when I started buying LV. I am in the us. Perhaps it's not the case for you, but it is for me. I have a great SA.

But there's a huge difference between getting a heads up unofficially from an SA (because one has a good relationship) and LV (as a company) officially giving notice of an upcoming increase.
One poster suggested that LV wouldn't increase without giving notice and that's not true.
Unofficially people gets a heads up from SAs and then that information leaks out to places like this forum, that is true.

The last whopping Canadian price increase I was going to buy a bag on the phone. The phone agent said she was not aware of any increases but if I want to order now I would be protected if there was. I hung up confident I had time. Bam! Huge increase next morning. Called 3 days ago and talked to another girl at LV on the phone. She said " if we earned people in advance about an increase it would cause a stampede to buy "

Oh, the irony of a retail business not wanting a "stampede" of buyers.

I am in Canada also and the SA - who could not have been any nicer - did not mention that there was going to be a price increase in the next few days:nogood:
