Talked to my SA today and he does not anticipate a price increase this month, or in the foreseeable future in the US, for the same reason there hasn't been one in a while. It has to do with the Euro, relative to the dollar, like all the chatter on this thread described. I don't think we need to freak out in the US, at least this month! I've been stalking a bag myself and personally can not purchase until the end of the month!!! The bad news is, I can't use the impending price increase to rationalize buying the bag sooner!!!! 😪

My friend heard that the LV price increase will happen in the US around the end of the month, and that it will be a really big increase. Who knows how reliable the info is but her sources are usually pretty reliable. I also don't know how much really a big increase means. My mom has been wanting the Damier Azur Pochette Accessoires NM so I jumped on the site and ordered it for her Mother's Day present. I was going to buy it for her anyway so if there is a 'huge' price increase at the end of March, I wanted to get it ordered before then.

I feel so sad to see the recent price increase in Canada. I have always wanted a speedy B but I too agree paying two grand for a canvas bag is becoming offensive. Just to compare I bought an Odeon PM in Paris in 2012 and it was about $600 Canadian after the VAT deduction. Now the same bag costs $1500 here in Canada. What makes it even more difficult is the quality issues with LV in the recent years. To put things in perspective a canvas with leather trim Hermes Garden Party costs a bit over two grand. Not a lot more expensive than a Neverfull with no quality issues as far as I know.

I totally agree 100000x!! Paying almost $2000 for a canvas bag you could buy just a few years prior for less then half is insane. The price increases have been ridiculous- totally greedy of LV and taking advantage of customers. And *in my opinion* the fluctuating dollar has nothing to do with it- if that were the case then ethically speaking they should be decreasing the cost significantly when it would make sense. Point is they just keep increasing - they would do it regardless of the dollar. But of course we buy into it by wanting to buy these things. Sometimes when I think hard about it I get dissaapoiinted in myself because i Think why am I paying huge amounts of money (that can be better spent elsewhere) to wear canvas with someone elses name on it!?? Is anyone out there wearing anything with my name on it - no!!!! LOL
