I won't buy one, but if it makes someone happy, why not? When I see someone wearing a face shield with no mask underneath, I keep my 6 or 10 feet away. Whatever.

Buying this with any sort of protection expectations seems akin to buying an LV bag that wasn't sewn at the bottom and expecting your stuff not to fall through and hit the floor.
I think you're supposed to wear both the face shield and the mask together and not just the face shield alone.
If it makes people happy and they have the money that's great for them.
I just don't understand to clean it properly you're probably gonna ruin the material I imagine? I'll stick with the masks I can throw in the washer/dryer and I won't be out hundreds of dollars if they get messed up in there. Lol.

I was wondering about this - I saw 3 face shields at my local grocery store over the weekend. I hadn't seem them before and lo & behold - 3 in one store run! No masks underneath. Personally I don't sweat it but it will be interesting to see how this plays out with those in charge of ensuring folks have a mask on in their establishments.
Agree that this is in poor taste. Profiteering from a virus that has devastated so many lives. Disappointing, to be honest.
It also doesn't look like it would offer any protection whatsoever to the wearer or others. And cleaning -- how would that work? Aren't LV now advising on every product description not to let the product come into contact with cleaning agents? Very poorly thought out all round. I can't imagine anyone actually buying this.
I see that Burberry are going to be selling face masks, but while still expensive for what they are, they're a fraction of the cost of LV's visor, and they'll actually serve the purpose they're supposed to. Plus, Burberry are donating 20% of their proceeds to charity.

I have a winner, saw a lady in Waitrose yesterday wearing a plastic face shield with a section cut out for her eyes (no mask underneath)
