Do I need to make an appointment to go to the Louis Vuitton in Waikiki? I wasn’t sure with Covid-19 restrictions if they were ok with visitors coming in to browse (and then possibly purchase) or if it’s all by appointment only. My home store welcomes appointment holders and those wishing to just browse.
My CA in Honolulu is excellent if you want his info. He's at the Ala Moana location, about a 5 minute drive from Waikiki. Usually it's best to make an appointment so you don't have to wait in line. If you don't have an appointment you can always wait in line.

Thank you so much for getting back to me, brincutie! I went to the mall today and decided to check out a possible line-up at LV but there was none! So I had a lovely SA assigned to me and we had a wonderful stroll through the store. There were so many beautiful bags it was hard to know where to look first!

I purchased just two small items.

Thank for your help, bricutie! I’m thrilled to add two more pieces to my LV collection! My lovely “souvenirs” from beautiful Hawaii!

Sure, it's not a problem. Congrats on your beautiful pieces! I have the exact slim wallet. Now we can be wallet twins. You went to the mall, so I'm guessing Ala Moana?

Yes, Ala Moana today and the LV in the Honolulu Gump’s Building next week! I was able to make an appointment there that suited the family. Trying to pace myself….
The second level at Ala Moana is full of luxury shops. Loewe is the newest and just opened four months ago. If you make it back to Ala Moana don't forget to check out Dior Cafe. There are only a handful of them in the world. They have the best cappuccino.

Thanks again, brnicutie, for all of your tips and suggestions. I definitely noticed the amazing selection of luxury brands on the second floor. It’s definitely eye-popping! I’m not sure if we will get back to Ala Moana, but if we do I’ll definitely make my way to the Dior Cafe. I didn’t even know there was such a thing!

Thank you! We are enjoying ourselves with the amazing weather and getting out and about.

I was wondering about visiting Chinatown? I see that tours are offered through the Chamber of Commerce. Is that the way to go or is a morning browsing at the Marketplace and then going for dim sum something you might recommend? Thanks so much!

Luckily I was born in HK and I'm fluent in Cantonese, so I know about Chinatown lol. There's not much to see, so I don't think you need a tour. People basically go there to go grocery shopping or to eat authentic Chinese cuisine. If you're looking for dim sum go to Fook Lam in the Chinese Cultural Plaza. Enter the parking structure on Maunakea St. Make sure to get your ticket validated. It's $1 an hour if validated. They make the best jin dui, round and thin. They have all the usuals: har gow, siu mai, etc. I would not go walking around there at night. It can be shady.

It’s so good to be able to ask you these questions as I’m not always sure about guidebook reviews. :confused1:

The dim sum sounds delicious! I just looked at the menu. You’ve named some of my favourites, and we haven’t had jin dui since my Aunts decided they were too old to keep making it.

I really appreciate the safety tip as well. Thank you, brnicutie!
