I have seen some in really good condition. The key is to not make it your every day bag. I know at the prices they are you want that option to use everyday if you want. The only one I considered is the denim Cosmetic GM as it has that vachetta base. Yes something you have to baby but I will Apple Garde the heck out of mine and will scotch guard the denim. I switch out my bag a ton so it should be ok. I will do the bag hack on mine. Hope I'm not offending anyone. Sorry if so!
Ooooh Scotch Guarding the denim? I wouldn’t have thought about that! Have you tried it before on denim or fabric bags with success? I’ve only used it on upholstery and shoes, never denim or anything else. I’m so curious; thank you!

No i never tried scotch guarding denim before but I've heard of people doing it to their jeans and jackets. I will test it in a small hidden area but I do not see a problem occurring to be honest. It's fabric, it's denim (not silk or a delicate fabric) so I personally think it will be fine. I will read reviews first. Usually i stay away from uncoated canvas (fabric) but I cant resist this denim Cosmetic GM. I love adding my own twist and designs to bags so being able to "create" my own bag with this GM will be so fun! oh wait! I forgot! I did scotch guard my LV "denim" loop. I totally forgot about that bag! No issues at all with that bag. It is a different type of denim though. More like the luxe denim in stretchy jeans. The Cosmetic GM denim is more like true denim.

Would the scotchguard make residue on the leather? Maybe u could tape it off with blue painters tape prior to spraying.

I have thoroughly "scotch-guarded" my Denim Baggy PM and Denim Speedy (original denim models from 2006 )when I received them. They are in pristine condition. I will say the process has certainly delayed the patina of the leather, as I did them as well.

Sooo good to know y’all have had success with “scotch-guarding” pieces in the past! Thank you for sharing that. I’ve never owned a denim (or any type of fabric) bag before, so I don’t think that would have crossed my mind, but it’s such a great idea. Keep us posted on if you end up doing it on pieces from this new collection; I’d love to hear how it goes. Thank you and good luck!

Oh yes! When I Scotch Guard the denim I am ONLY doing the denim. For the vachetta I will only use Apple Garde. I have used Apple Garde for years on my vachetta and had zero issues. I would NOT Scotch Guard the vachetta. Im going to place the vachetta bottom of the GM in a plastic bag to protect the base and tape the plastic bag in place around the vachetta to make sure all vachetta is protected before I scotch guard. I felt no residue on my LV denim jacquard Loop when I used Scotch Guard.

My Apple Garde came in and I put 3 layers of Apple Garde on the vachetta (drying 20 to 30 mins in between each coat) and now less then half of the can is left! Hahaha! My accessories came in from Aimere Luxury to do my conversion of the Denim Cosmetic GM. I got the Felice like chain and the skinny vachetta strap. Yes, I converted it. Lol. The size of the GM makes a perfect bag, the price is more reasonable for the size and the vachetta and studs are beautiful! I already have a wide vachetta strap and a Coussin chain and those look great too. I HAD to do it! Lol. I didn't scotch guard the denim yet though. I haven't decided yet on which one I will use.

That looks so good! Very creative! Ive never “applied” anything to my bags but this denim looks touchy so I will have to try.
