Lost my wallet...

Quote--Should I just buy a new one and move on???
Unless you think there's a chance a good Samaritan will return it, don't see what other choice you have.

I am unsure why you would need to list the contents of your wallet on a public forum (saying "credit cards" would have sufficed, so it's very weird that you would specify your Amex Platinum, for any other reason than to brag). I'm sorry you lost your wallet, it can make you feel vulnerable, but all that information you listed would only need to be given to a police officer for a statement. The odds of you getting your wallet back with all the contents still in it are almost nonexistent, unfortunately, so yes, time to buy a new wallet!

Sometimes people have oddly specific explanation styles.
I don't think the OP would intentionally brag about an Amex Plat card. Telling the tpf you lost a wallet doesn't necessarily put you in a good light (like to say, if someone was judgemental about it and accused the op of being irresponsible, etc). I think she's just wanting a place to express her situation and sadness.

To the OP: You can choose whatever you want, maybe you'd like a different wallet and try something new, too.

I'm really sorry to hear about your loss, it must be stressful and devastating. But as others have said, it might be good to wait just a few days to see if it gets returned. There are good people out there with integrity.

Sorry to hear.

What exactly do you want input about? Is this a yes/no whether to buy a new wallet?

Also, you didn't respond to the posts on the other thread you posted, asking about wallets under $600. Maybe check there for suggestions.

Yes, sorry for your loss, but these pocket organizers really seem to bring you bad luck! Perhaps it is time for something other than a pocket organizer to end your losing streak, maybe a wallet? Jellyv has provided a useful link here for your reference.

These things are all easily replaceable, especially your work ID, since you have told us numerous times you own your own grocery store business. What is important is that you are safe, and it was lost not stolen from you.

I'd like to believe that most people who found a wallet would try to return it to the owner, so I'd wait a few days before replacing it.

If what you are asking is should you buy the same one, then at least this loss gives you a chance to rethink your choice and if you didn't love the lost one try something else.

Do check with your insurance company though, I'm not an insurance expert but there's a chance that you might have coverage for the loss of the wallet.

It's not to brag. I'm just very sad. I can't replace my Starbucks card (as far as I know? If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it!) and also in case anyone on this forum would happen to find my wallet (keeping my fingers crossed!)

The grocery store is hubby's job [emoji23] I'm actually a teacher (went back to work this year!). But thank you for your kind words! I was thinking about getting a pocket organizer in Epi because I really do love the design. The glazing was peeling away on the Pocket Organizer anyways so maybe it was time for a new one!

And also, Amex Platinum isn't very special. It's not invitation only so I don't know why people would think I'm bragging about something?? I'm just disappointed and I have to wait on a replacement card. Btw, they didn't tell me how long it would take to get a replacement, anyone have any experience with this?

Thank you for the link! Do you all think I should get a new pocket organizer maybe in a different leather or canvas because I really did love how versatile it was or do you think I should buy something different to change things up?

I'm still praying that someone will return it to me. [emoji17]

Sorry to hear that. Call your insurance company and see if your policy covers it and your items. If this particular wallet met your needs and you were happy with, by all means, replace it.

My deductible is $500 on homeowners so it's more than the value of the wallet unfortunately.

And sorry for asking so many questions in one thread but anyone know if I have to start a new Panera card account or whatever it's called or can I get a replacement? I was so close to that free pastry! [emoji23]

First of all in sorry you lost your wallet. I'm sure you were devastated and still are. Have you tried backtracking to the stores you were at? Or was it stolen from your purse? I'm saying this because 3 months ago I took out my wallet and left it by the counter of a store. Didn't realize it was gone till a few hours later. I backtracked to all the stores I was at and surprisingly I located it. An employee found it by the counter and kept it by the register. I was so happy. I gave her $40 lol. It had my license, credit cards and cash in it.

Now with regards to your panera card, I believe it's registered under your phone number. So go to the store and they will tell you what you have to do.

Good luck.

I am sorry this has happend hun, I know how frustrating it can be to loose something..... hopefully you can move on.

I remember a time when I went to Vegas.... the whole holiday started on a bad note with me being very unwell and sad... we were almost at Heathrow contenplating whether to not even get on our flight because I was so sad.... anyway fast foward a couple of days and we were in Vegas...... we were in a casino and I had misplaced my Mulberry wallet without even knowing (must of been on that much of a good luck streak i did not even go into my bag for it) anyway about an hour into the night a croupier came upto me and said hey have you lost your purse??? Haha i looked into my handbag to find it wasnt there... i was gutted...

He then handed me my purse along with all my contents in it back to me, he located me by looking at my drivers licence!!! He said that some guy handed it to him as it was on the floor of a table... i was over the moon!!!!

He then said it must be my lucky night... so i best get playing and choose some lucky numbers haha

So it does prove that it might get handed in.... i wouldnt hold any hope but there are still some honest people out there somewhere.

I hope this story has a happy ending for you xxx

Amex will overnight you a new card at no charge. I do speak from experience, even though I am only a green card member. I'm surprised they didn't tell you that.

Yeah I just called last night and they said they would ship one out right away but they didn't say how long. I guess it'll be there today or tomorrow then![emoji3]
