Since it’s unlined I have to imagine it collapses into an awkward puddle when unstuffed.

Maybe, when it had softened. I did take out the stuffing to try it on but the stuffing already made the bag bulge from the sides. It just didn't emulate the elegance of the Roseau regular tote though I understand this is supposed to be unstructured and to offer a more casual look. If it looked the way it did in the Nordstrom pics, not as floppy and with a richer grain... I might be sold.

It didn't when I took out the stuffing - it was standing up but not in an elegant way. A slouchy look

Well spotted!!! I saw this pic on IG too but couldn't look beyond the fringe hahaha

It has occurred to me before to shorten the strap this way but I was thinking that there wouldn't be enough room as the intermediate links have less space as they are connected to links on each side as opposed to the end which has only 1 connected link. So I didn't want to risk ruining the chain - it may get deformed... Not sure

3D Crossbody in Midnight Blue. The lighting here is a bit bright (it’s a watch shop) so the colour looks greyish.

Despite the placement of the strap at the back, doesn’t tip forward even when unzipped. A fuss free and easy to access bag.
