So following my post about Monday's very awful experience, I managed to go to the sale again on Friday and scored silks/cashmere shawls and twilles which is what I really wanted. Also managed to get one ready to wear piece. I got there around 4pm and showed the lady at the door my email from the Hermes Private sale email letting me know I could re-attend. It was not crowded and definitely a much smoother experience. In terms of Vestiaire Collective, I have definitely seen people trying to re-sell and list items at retail/above retail. It's such a racket tbh...

I've been looking on VC specifically at shoes which was the busiest area by far and needless to say there are a plethora of listings for shoes BNIB from UK sellers, one of whom posted a picture of the shoes she was selling with many H boxes of other shoes in the background no doubt awaiting listing-In some cases the listed price is more inflated than the shop one.
I also saw my trainers on eBay (used-so not from the sale and listed by a Japanese seller) for 1.4k! Thats double retail.
I get so angry at this kind of greed.
Hence this post....especially as Many of the posters on here were unable to get shoes in their size and left empty handed.

I counted 16 pairs of sale shoes on just 1 VC profile... Here's hoping they get stuck with them!

Although irksome you will always get people who try and profiteer off situations like this, it’s not worth getting elevated blood pressure over it. The only way to make reselling undesirable is to get over FOMO and not buy from resellers.

Loved reading your sake stories with envy! Quick question to those reporting resellers…why? I get that it’s infuriating to compete against these folks, but what care does Vestiare have to remove them? By definition they are a pre loved website so everything they list is technically a resale. Do they actively work against these professional resellers or does it actually support their business model?

I was invited to the sale by Hermes too, did you email the company that organised the sale to request that you could re-attend or did you email Hermes?

On a separate note, I went on the first day for the 4pm slot, I got there at 3.50pm, got in around 4.30pm, it was very busy, I did manage to get 3 items, a mens jacket, a pair of sneakers and a bracelet. I'm happy with all my items but it did take such a long time to pay due to trying to pay with Amex. I would have wanted to have gone again as I did find the experience overwhelming as it was just so busy, especially in homeware and the ladies scarf section. I wanted to purchase some ladies scarfs as gifts but I didn't have the time.

Does anyone think the sale will be held twice a year like in Paris? I noticed that the menswear RTW stock was SS2020, did anyone see any FW2020 stock?

@Crapples No issues with VC and resale sights in general. My issue is with sellers not being transparent re description of items posted for resale, ie, not mentioning items are stamped 's'. Private messaging on VC was intended for the purpose of price negotiations between buyer and seller. In reality, it's being used by highly organised resale groups to threaten and harass those who dare to ask about any marks.

I count myself very fortunate to have been able to attend and purchase items from last weeks sale, with full knowledge items would be marked accordingly. I guess I just would've liked other Hermes followers to have had the opportunity to benefit from the same. Buyer beware...

Hats off to Hermes for arranging such an amazing sale! Count me in at the next

echoing what @Moody Blues said really.
I myself brought a bag some time ago on Vestiere that was purchased in H Sale and that fact was disclosed by the seller with image of S stamp on the listing-I will add that the bag was very fairly priced.
My personal beef is with groups of resellers attending the sale with the sole aim of purchasing in order to sell at a vast profit.
Yes I know that theres a lot of queuing involved and overheads such as commission paid to the listing platform and shipping costs.
What annoys me is the insane mark-ups on the Sale items listed...I think if they were trying to turn a profit of say 30% on a pair of shoes purchased in sale (after the overheads I've mentioned) fair enough-but to list things for 4X the price paid (profit of approx £500 potentially ) is just greedy.
It goes against my sensibilities and although I know moaning about it and calling these people out wont actually change anything (as someone mentioned on an earlier post FOMO makes many pay these silly premiums on Luxury items) It actually bothers me as much as the counterfeiting trade.
Anyway-I've moaned enough!
It was a fantastic sale and I really hope there will be another next season.

The odd pair here and there but no neo or anything I’d have bought. The staff said this was all that was left now and were not really bringing out much to replace what was gone. I got a twillaine long cardigan - still a fair bit of rtw left for men and women and at a good reduction. Attaching a photo of mine and one of the silk 90 cm scarves in jungle love design.
Hi!
Congrats on your goodies.
Could you kindly let me know the sale price of the long teillaine? I know you posted a pic but I can’t zoom it for some reason. Tia

sure - I paid £774 (retail price is £2580) so a good 70% off the original price. Really happy with it! I’d go again for the RTW - seemed to be much less popular but I suspect thrrr were more bargains to be had!

I emailed the Hermes Private Sale directly and they said I could re-attend. I also emailed Arliette who didn't respond until the week after the sale.

Hi all ☺️ apologies, am incredibly late to the game. We are registered under my partner's name who very kindly didn't check his emails on time. anyways, I was just watching videos of everyone's scores on YouTube, had a read here etc and have gotten so excited for the next London sale. Does anyone have any insider Info on when to expect the next one?? Are they always as good as they were this year? I mean I've seen some incredible deals on the videos from the sales! Completely unbelievable. If my partner hadn't received an email as well and i hadn't watched the videos o wouldn't have believed it haha
Also do any of you based in London/UK use / are VIP members of
Arlettie? Is it worth it? They don't mention Hermes as one of their clients on their web page though? How does it work? Did you actually get fast track at the Hermès sale with your membership? Super newbie here so sorry for all the questions
