Yes. I wasn't able to observe how strictly they enforced it if you tried to go back from the shoes to the women's RTW section, but the guy between silks and RTW was VERY strict. They had a 'guard' between each section, so I assume they're there to enforce the one way system.

I saw people trying their luck, and failing. So I made sure to take my time as I worked my way around. YMMV, though. But keep watch on enforcement so you know whether or not you can chance it!
When I went on Sunday before I went to the shoes i asked if I could go back to the silks and was told yes but it would depend on how many were in there, but it was fine because it wasn’t that busy. I’m glad you had fun and came away with something :)

That’s so encouraging to hear that there going to be no endless lines! No 70% off on shoes isn’t ideal but I’d rather pay more than have to wait 45 min to just enter the shoe area. Has anyone seen any resort wear and swimwear?

I saw a handful of cover-ups/tunics for beachwear whilst wading through the rails of rtw.

That sounds like a much better system than last year, thank goodness! Was there a large queue when you left? I was thinking of turning up 1 hour before my slot in case it was like last year but if the crowds are smaller maybe I won't need to be so early.
you can only enter at allotted time (at least on Sunday!). I saw people sat at the waiting area, which is inside the building and had refreshments available

I visited the sale this morning it was a lot calmer. I arrived at 7am, 15 people in-front of me. We were let in at 8. I went straight to the shoes then I came back to mens. As I was with the first batch to go in there was no issue with going back but then there was later as others mentioned. Such a shame the shoes were not the same price as last year. I also found that RTW was very limited in terms of T-shirts and polos. In the end I got 2 scarfs. One is a gift. A leather jacket at 70% off and then 3 shoes. Pics attached. I’m happy I found the jacket and I was brave enough to buy it, it’s a good investment etc.0C503166-4D7B-4C7C-BEB7-709C928A0C94.jpeg08E5E72E-DFC8-40A9-9559-D6982FE828C0.jpeg2DAC26EB-192F-44D4-A266-FDCF5BB37474.jpegBF5837A6-FCFE-489A-ACCC-EA9D417D1DCB.jpeg4196AA9F-3A41-4111-86F7-E4F05AEA2938.jpeg

A wonderful haul, especially that leather jacket  How much was it and the pink scarf, if you don't mind me asking?

I just got my confirmation for Saturday. I think Arlettie is sending out the last batch of confirmations

Thank you! That’s really good to know as I’m notorious for making uturn and changing my mind halfway. Will have to stay til I make up my mind in one section :P
Definitely take your time! There are some gorgeous and recent season RTW pieces. And far more clothing in this year's sale than there was last year. More leather items as well for really good prices. And even exotics among the shoes!

No endless queues at all! There was a small one to first get inside, but it moved quickly because they were letting people in in batches. And it sounds like the invite list was much smaller and slots more limited, so there were fewer people. Going to the till, I didn't queue at all. Walked right up the pay.

I was there in the morning, so I'm not sure how much crazier it will get later in the day, but when I got there early they made me wait until my 09:30 slot actually began. Ally Pally has a cute little waiting area, though where I sat and did a bit of work among all the husbands and boyfriends left outside to wait lol.

I wonder if they would've allowed it today had the crowd been smaller. Then again, it could also have just been the young man on guard. He seemed to take pleasure in telling people they couldn't come back in

I'm so happy you found some things! I know you were a bit stressed about how it would go, but they seemed so well organised today. I wish I could go back! but then again, I don't need to spend more money lol

Yes I was stressed, I think I was hoping for more polos and T-shirts but they were very limited. Also they were not topping up etc. They might have some other pieces in the back but I’ve spent enough

Lovely items

Update from my visit today - I went for the earliest slot and drove up. I’d planned on arriving at 7 am but as it was peak time, I arrived at 7.45. Although I thought it would mean queuing for ever I was wrong and it was all fine. A note for those driving - park in the East car park which is on the right as you come up the hill. I missed it first time and quickly found out all the other car parks were closed!)

You can go right inside ( via the main palm court entrance ( so no need to queue in the cold like last time!). There were around 10-15 people ahead of me . We all got in pretty quickly. Cloakroom system like last year so don’t bring expensive bags - although I did see one lady with her Kelly 28!

You enter mens first, then silks, then ladies rtw and finally shoes. The early goers were lucky as we could go to and fro between the sections but they stopped people going from rtw to silks later - I saw a few people arguing with security but they were having none of it. Not great for planning your purchases but it’s to keep things moving.

RTW: A lot of RTW - much more than last year. - lots of T-shirts, cardigans, coats, shirts , trousers. I saw people trying on gorgeous fur coats ( with equally gorgeous prices!!). My advice is to keep looking at rtw and in all sections as people were leaving things randomly. I found pieces that weren’t there first time round I’d looked - and there were especially nice things dumped near mirrors and the changing rooms. There are 4 changing rooms - they let you take 3 pieces in at a time. One steward was being super strict and making people queue again after trying 3 pieces but others were letting you try all your goods in turn. Many pieces were near current season. Hardly any long twillaine cardigans though. Clothes arranged in size and colour which helped too and some of the pricier embroidered things hung separately - but you can take them.

Silks: really nicely organised so you could take your pick. They were strict to only allow one 140 cashmere shawl but otherwise up to 8 pieces. Some lovely exceptional pieces such as the jungle love embroidered 90cm ( but it was pricy at £1500) and some fur shawls and scarves.

Shoes: 6 pairs allowed of any type. they had only mink orans this year - no other orans at all - gorgeous teal colour that I’ve not seen in the shops. My advice is to look at the fit rather than sizes - I’m a 36-36.5 but the 35.5 fitted me just fine. Lots of cute shoes in smaller sizes. Staff were helpful and would look up any other sizes for you. Boots seemed limited but there was a good range. Oasis were there - mainly printed and some of the diamanté styles. Plenty of oz mules

Overall - the big downside was prices. Items were definitely more expensive than last year Shoes and scarves were 50% off. RTW had a bigger discount but not as good as last year eg a twillaine cardigan last year was £700 - this year it’s £1000. Many leather jackets were over £2k. Shoes were not discounted like last year - I bought Paris croc loafers last year for £800 - this year they were £1500.

So my take is that it was all very calm this morning, lots of staff to help and tidy up. Paying was a breeze - literally no wait time and being able to park meant no lugging heavy bags home on public transport! I suspect Ally Pally will become the sale venue next time too as it worked very well.
