I have one and I wear it on my right hand- it's a three stone (2 rounds 1 emerald cut) in platinum. Very dainty and antique looking. I love it so much! I bought it when I was 23 and have fielded tons of questions, but I usually say to strangers 'oh, it was my grandmother's". I don't need to expain it to anyone. I loooove it.

k, here she is. I needed my right hand to shoot the pic, so she's resting on my left middle finger. She's kinda dusty too.

I think if you can afford it, go for it. But to avoid the association with an engagement ring, consider wearing it on your right hand.

Or you could wear it on your left hand and clarify if anyone asks. A lot of women wear non-engagement/wedding rings on their left hands. The only people who would be curious would be strangers, and who cares what they think?

I promised to buy myself a nice bracelet of my birthstone for my graduation this December if I graduate with honors, because I feel like I earned it... and the bracelet I'm eyeing is about $2000. So I don't see a big deal. It isn't like I'm going to make a habit of buying $2000 bracelets!

if you want it get it! i have way more than one "engagement style" ring that i wear as rhr's that i have bought myself and i don't care! lol! i even have a tiffany pave etoile that i wear as an rhr, whatever floats your boat!

You go girl! You are smart, succesfull and yu don't need a man to buy you jewelry. So should you treat yourself to something special? Of course, and don't think twice about it.

you can't advertise here.

I've purchased beautiful rings for myself, usually for my middle finger or right ring finger. They've ranged from $400 to $1200. Yes, go for it. You live once so lavish yourself accordingly, especially if you have financials in check.

I don't think it’s silly at all! If YOU'RE not going to spoil yourself, then who else would?

This ring sounds like a great way to reward yourself for working hard to keep your financials in order. A good friend of mine did something similar… After receiving her bonus, my friend decided to treat herself. She took a short "coffee" break from work, walked over to Cartier and purchased herself a gold Cartier love ring with diamonds. It’s beautiful and I thought it was a great way to reward herself for her hard work throughout the year.
