I saw a few leaked images beforehand and thought nothing of the collection. Then I saw the lookbook and I am SMITTEN. We are trying to ask our SA if the hammock is orderable as it doesn’t seem to be in the lookbook we have received!!

And this lemur bag/strap looks absolutely insane lol. It is apparently made of shearling though so will be expensive!

The lemur bag looks awesome. For those who have previous Loewe shearling experience, are there any smells/scents/odors that come inherent with the piece? How have they worn in?

Glad to see some familiar names from the previous Howl’s Moving Castle frenzy - truly an incorrigible bunch

Absolutely in love with the lemur charm and delicate little designs on the scarves and SLGs. The green panda mini flamenco is a divine color and works as a great neutral. This collaboration definitely came at a terrible time when I was doing so well on not shopping!

Hot take: Some of these items are better design wise than some of the Howl's Moving Castle collection. I feel like more care was taken into the small details and they melded it better with Loewe's products.

As much as I loved the HMC collection (clearly with my post history lol), they were a bit lazy with slapping Calcifer on everything with 2 different colorways imo. Idk, anyone else agree?

I totally agree actually - while there were some pieces from HMC that were quite incredibly integrated too (eg the castle bag), overall the HMC collection had a lot less thought put into the design vs this collection. My friend in fact ranked this Suna Fujita collab higher than all three Studio Ghibli ones. I am almost inclined to agree but the amount of money I dropped on the Studio Ghibli collabs makes me unable to. LOL.

We have the shearling calcifer flamenco from the HMC collab and it doesn't bear any scent or odor other than the leather smell. I don't think I have smelled any odor from any of the shearling pieces I've come into contact with at Loewe, from bags to RTW.

Shearling is supposedly super hardwearing but we've never actually given the calcifer flamenco much use.

Honestly probably in the same boat! I spent way too much money on HMC to say this one is better 😅 I didn't purchase anything from the Totoro or the Spirited Away collection but I feel they definitely got lazier with each collection. This Suna Fujita collection is honestly on par with the Totoro collection imo. I feel like the Totoro collection was revolutionary in the sense that it was a really successful experiment, proving to Loewe there is a huge market for cute, whimsical luxury and is probably the reason why this Suna Fujita one looks so good.

Bummer that a lot of the pieces are in the satin calfskin though. Their attention to design/craft came back, but they're still cutting corners on the quality unfortunately 😕

i feel this so much. i'm a bit bummed about all the satin leather used, even in the SLGs and will probably only pick up the flamenco assuming it doesn't sell out before i'm able to. i agree that design wise the Suna Fujita collab has so much variety and dare i say, personality? but i'm questioning what the marquetry looks like in the pieces, i'll have to see it IRL but they definitely don't look as detailed as, say, the Totoro Ghibli collection. i do feel like they got lazier design-wise w/ each Studio Ghibli collection, specially considering the amount of hype behind each one but perhaps that's also why they were able to! bc they knew they could get away with it and we would still be throwing them our money to take lol.

I believe part of the reason why each Ghibli collection felt "lazier" was also because of the size and scope that increased with each release. The Totoro collection had maybe 20 items (excluding RTW)? The HMC collection had literal hundreds (as does this Suna Fujita collab)! But HMC was the "worst" with the Calcifer stuff - I love Calcifer but did we really need three sets of Calcifer puzzles?

Have to share this store display pic I found online - I think the lemur tail strap is insane (and also honestly I won't drop cash on something that looks like I can get it off Etsy for $20 since it bears no Loewe house signatures), but it actually works super well with the small font tote! Haha.
The lemur tail! You're right about the etsy though. I'm sure there will be a lot of fakes popping up with that one. 😅

Thanks so much, I really appreciate the feedback.

In a way, wish you'd said otherwise because then the wallet would have been safe!

Edit: Figured it out-- they're Japan limited so only found on the Japan website!

I'm having a really hard time finding any of the bears items on the website... Has anyone else had any luck? I'm trying to look at more details and the bear items are the most intricate imo.

True. An SA told me there will not be any stock of the bear line in the store, at least in Hong Kong. So I suppose one can buy the products in Japan only, and the online purchase will only be delivered to an address in Japan.
