In the descriptions it only seems to be the mandragora SLGs that mention marquetry and they have visible stitching in places. All the others just say printed motifs or motifs I'm not sure if they have any marquetry at all. Although if you zoom in on some of the motifs the grain of the leather seems different and the black parts of some of the pandas or lemurs seem to look more raised than the other colours.

I am sad that Loewe is moving away from their signature marquetry to printing instead because the marquetry elevates them in my opinion. With their decision to do that, and with the move away from the original Puzzle and towards the Puzzle Edge, my wallet is quite safe. I was considering the panda Flamenco until I realized that it was printed on. Strike. And I want nothing to do with the Puzzle Edges. Strike 2 for me. Feels like Loewe hope the cute is enough to overcome the cost savings it seems like they are enacting. Just my opinion here, it's okay if you love the cute and are okay with the change in production.

However, in the photos posted by @danstyles, doesn't it look like the Puzzle Tote with the penguins are done in marquetry?

Some photos of the lemur bag and other pieces I found on little red book!
The lemur bag is so cute, but I just can’t see myself ever using it.

Thanks for the additional photos! Helpful.

Yup, it seems like the puzzle tote and puzzles definitely have marquetry. You can see the stitching on the penguins and lemursIMG_9511.jpegIMG_9512.jpeg

Waah this is cute! Why do I want the stuffed toy …

I want the otter plush that was photographed on top of a stack of scarves but I’m not certain it’s anything but a plushie… lol

And there’s definitely marquetry, I think the “printing” is how some of the penguins have a soft blur of gray - they can’t achieve that by piecing leather together.

I was nervous about the light colour of the penguin items and thar that would make them the most delicate but from what you have said it could the the panda items that are most delicate because the green is the darkest colour. I'm thinking in terms of SLGs it might be better to go for something flat like a card holder or coin card holder rather than a folding wallet which could wrinkle or crack more easily.

I'm not particularly crafty so I can't see me making a felt charm that resembles any kind of animal but if you were you could make a seal or otter. Or you can probably find a lot of cute animal felt charms on etsy rhat would have a similar effect. I think if I was going to get a charm it might be a ceramic one I'm surprised there aren't more ceramics given who they are collaborating with.

I see what you mean about the charms each one is quite different. I'm not sure if the department store closest to me would get any of these pieces in for me to pick the item that looks/feels the nicest and by the time I get a chance to check everything is likely to be sold out
Honestly I'm confused which has marquetry this time.

The panda hammock and flamenco both say intarsia motif, which I thought meant the same as marquetry, but the flamenco really looks like it's printed on.

Meanwhile the panda vertical wallet just says "illustrated motif" but this looks like pretty obvious marquetry to me? I wish loewe was more clear with the way they worded things...

I'm also confused and wish the descriptions were clearer it's hard to tell from photos. Does the marquetry usually have visible stitching? If that is how to tell the its the bags except for the flamencos and the the mens madragora bifold that have it. I can't see any visible stitching on anything else although marquetry is mentioned for all the madragora slgs. It does also look like there are different grains of leather visible and raised areas visible on some of the panda and Lemur SLGs which makes me think there could be some marquetry involved or something more interesting than printing but I could be completely wrong there. I'm not sure about the penguin or otter SLGs

Items with marquetry on satin calfskin likely will have stitching over it, especially on bags! It won't be on smaller items because less space to be fair. Classic calfskin items with marquetry did not have stitching at all.

I picked up the small Mandragora tote in raffia from Omotesando today! It seems that the characters on each tote look very different depending on the person who made it. I'd suggest checking out multiple if your store has more than one before buying one. I didn't notice until I got home that there is black stitching running through the shirt of the boy on the side of mine.

How was the stock in store? Did everything sell out like the Ghibli stuff?

Most of the leather bags sold out within the first few hours of opening day (Saturday). I tried to get the leather Mandragora bag, but all that was left was the display model that they couldn't sell. The raffia bag that I bought came back in stock on Tuesday, and I went straight away when I received a message from my SA. It was the only one available and she wasn't sure if/when they'd get more.
