24S just send out a discount code "FIRST30" that takes off 30% on many Loewe items (not all).

Got myself the large flamenco bag in khaki for 1500 euro instead of 2200, yay!
Is anyone else having issues with this discount code? It was originally working for a bag in my cart, but it doesn't work anymore (says code valid but doesn't apply to order) when I try to check out now.

When you talk about buying from Rakuten, do you mean actually buying stuff from Japan or am I missing something? I routinely buy fountain pens and stationery, but I've never bought something which had a value over the tax exempt limit. I'm looking at a light mauve mini puzzle that's ¥252,900, which is about $1851 USD. I know shipping will be at least $60, but that's still a great deal compared to the $2500 USD MSRP. Will I get killed on taxes, especially in a high sales tax state? Will customs even let me import it?

No. Rakuten is one of those click-through cashback sites. It used to be ******. So they offer varying amounts of cashback based on the retailer. So you sign into rakuten first, then click through their link to NM, BG, etc to get the additional cashback on your purchase. You don't get cashback on taxes or shipping, just the item.
