Loewe Paid Authentication Services

Hello, as you might have read here before I have been using Legit Checks authentication company to authenticate my pre-loved Loewe purchases. As you know I tried many different authentication and found this one most accurate.

I purchase pre-loved from sellers that provide authentication of these pre-loved items but I always like to double check, second opinion and all that.

Anyway I have bought a Loewe Hammock mini recently this item passed the first authentication at the sellers warehouse and came with box, dust bag, tags and invoice. I took photos of the bag but not of the tags or invoice just the bag and strap and it came back as counterfeit. I was gutted and send it back to the seller for second opinion but yet again they argued that it is a genuine bag and send it back to me. I ordered one from Loewe and compared it to the pre-loved one but to my eyes the bag , the anagram, the thread used were all identical.

So guess what I have done? I have taken second set of photos of my pre-loved Hammock mini, this time with the tags still attached tags visible and paid another 50 eur for the same authentication. The result was bag is authentic!! Same bag , same authentication company , several days apart but two different results. Now tell me what do you think??

I bought a medium hammock from Komehyo on eBay and had been planning to use LegitGrails, but reading through the recent posts in this thread, I am questioning whether it's even worth getting it authenticated at all. It seems so unreliable! Anyone have any other paid services that they trust for Loewe?

Hey, did you ever get it authenticated? If so, where did you get it done and happened to it? I just bought a bag off ebay as well and I'm giving b101revue (formerly known as bagaholic101) a try, I'll update when I get the results back.

I'm a bit confused? I've read in the fairly reliable 'Closet Full of Cash' guide that Loewe serial numbers are simply a plant code with the middle two numbers being the date code. In that case, isn't it totally possible for a Loewe bag to be made in the same year at the same plant?? I'm quite sure these plants make more than one bag in an entire year, correct??? Their bags are NOT issued individual serial numbers, that's just a factory plant and a date code! I hate to think everyone is panicking here for no reason? I'm quite certain more than one bag can be made in the same year at the same plant! Same as LV just uses a country code & date code, that is quite often seen on more than one bag of the same style.

HERE is the link from Closet Full of Cash that's been in the Designer handbag resale business for decades. I trust them explicitly. And here is a screenshot of what it says. Are you stating this is wrong??

Thank you for this helpful info! I was hesitating to buy a puzzle on Vinted, but now I am pretty sure it's fake because the year in the serial number does not match the year on the receipt, the seller uploaded two pictures of different serial numbers for the same bag, and the department store that they bought it from gives vouchers for every 300€ spent no matter if it is a luxury brand and the receipt says 0 vouchers were generated, which to me seems impossible. I was going to pay for the authentication with legitgrails, but your post was enough to convince me to pass - thanks again!

Sorry for the late reply, but just FYI I purchased an anagram strap directly from Loewe two weeks ago, and the date code indicates that it was made in 2024. So, I don't think that the serial number not matching the year on the receipt is necessarily a red flag (within reason, of course - it would be highly unlikely to find an item with a 2017 date code still in stock at a Loewe boutique). But it seems as if this bag is a time traveller, ha ha...a 2023 invoice for a 2024 bag. Glad that you gave this one a miss.

I just reported an obviously fake puzzle on Ebay. The seller guaranteed authenticity or money back. It was listed for about US$500. So many of the previously sold items from their feedback were also designer bags that would normally sell for thousands pre-loved but theirs sold around a similar price range. In my report to Ebay, there was very limited space that I could type more info but I stated that the serial number indicates that the bag was made in 2004 and the model did not exist then. Well, I just received an automated response from Ebay: We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made using automation or artificial intelligence.

And at the bottom of the email "Please don't reply to this message. It was sent from an address that doesn't accept incoming email."

Oh well, I tried. That was my good deed for the day. Everything is AI now so I guess the scammers win. Good luck to the poor souls who will buy from this seller.
