The shortages concern is really not terribly accurate either since tons of people using it for weight loss are using the compounded versions because they're significantly cheaper and easier to get in the US.I just don’t see any issues with the use of these drugs for weight loss, other than creating shortages for those who need the medications for more serious health conditions. I don’t think anyone owes any explanation as to how they lose weight. Do we get up in arms about Botox, fillers, plastic surgery, Invisalign, or any other procedure or treatment that we use to change or improve our health or appearance? Why do we treat these drugs and the use of them differently? Could it be that the stigma of excess weight is still shameful?
I think it's because being thin has always been treated as something you should deserve or have to put effort towards. I'd love nothing more than to see these drugs help combat the obesity problem that is plaguing the country.
