I haven’t started my DIY project yet… but I bought a small white cardboard box to practice on lol. I didn’t like how one of the materials I bought turned out, so I ordered something else that I think will look better.

Advent calendar packagings seems very excessive especially with COVID going on... Not looking forward to spraying down all the boxes :/

All that glitter is not gold! Finally opened up the cardboard box. Will decorate it another day, after seeing some of the stickers not sure where to stick them

So why has the Chanel version gotten people so het (sic) up? After all, luxury brands have never been shy about the fact that, in large part, what their customers are buying is the brand equity itself. A dustbag with “Chanel” on it is worth more than a dustbag with nothing on it.

Moreover, Chanel does lay out all the contents of the calendar on its website, so it’s not a secret what anybody is getting for their money. It’s not apparent that their offering is any more flimflam than that of other brands.

But because it was new, and because it cost so much, and because it was Chanel, with all the mythology built into the name, the stakes and expectations may have been higher. And the sense of betrayal when those expectations were not met, greater — and, it would seem, the desire to publicly pile on in response, irresistible.

Those who profit from perception can also lose because of it. What Ms. Harmon opened up wasn’t just a new mini perfume. It was a new reality, now completely out of the box.

Has Chanel previously released Advent Calendars with as many negative reviews as this year? I was thinking that snow globe is cute, until I saw the actual size. Maybe the backlash will result in a better advent calendar next year.

This is the first time they’ve released an advent calendar, supposed to be for the 100th anniversary of the No5 perfume.

Look what came in mail today! Perhaps Chanel decided to send me real size snow globe as a gift for being a generous customer for purchasing their advent calendar I would never know but nevertheless snow globe is so cute! Happy to finally have it!!! Thank again for letting me share!
